You're getting good at this "interweb" stuff - lol
It's cray. You just type in "funny boner gif" or something that you want and the interweb provides...

Can be bad at times. I just googled "gross asshole gif" as a present for @bu$hleaguer ...now THERE'S some shit I can't unsee...

EDIT: I don't know much about the "polls" (RIU polls, not PENis) but I thought it said you could vote multiple times. I can't seem to. I like that last option a lot...I was hoping to vote again...

I didn't hear anything, I'm 32. But I'm on my phone sitting on the toilet right now. Maybe I'll try later on my iMac.

I also have tinnitus. Got it from shooting my .45 loudest pistol I own.
Ringing ALWAYS?

I had a friend who has that. He ruptured his eardrum with a stick while tree-planting one spring. He also had a particularly annoying girlfriend that summer we nicknamed "Texas". He didn't mind how much she talked because he said he'd sit her on his ringing ear side. Could tune out stuff easily.

Does it ever come in handy like that for you?

Wish it worked like that, I have a sister-in-law that I try to tune out, the tinnitus doesn't help :( Only thing I find with the tinnitus is in a crowd, I can hear everyone's conversation but have to really concentrate to have a one-one conversation in a crowd due to the background ringing...

you guys with diagnosed tinnitus should try to be proactive in trying to prevent it from getting worse if possible . it steadily gets worse as you get older and if you live long enuff it will be unbareable . grandad has his surgery at walter reed , retired Lt.Colonel army . im sincere in what i say , ok im done being serious.

- i called the rape hot line call center today ,

Funny thing with tinnitus is that it can also go away just like it appeared. This summer i had about 1 week where it went away almost entirely, for about a week though :( I've checked out surgery, tracked the triggers (days when it's worse than others). It's definitely tied into sinuses (allergy season is the worst) and can be affected/triggered by atmospheric pressure (high or low pressure days are worse). Tried some Pycnogenol pills for a while, they helped for a while @50 and 100mg/day, then didn't make any difference after about a year. May try them again sometime to see if maybe a build up of it degrades or builds up immunity to them after a while. They're a natural source of a very specific pine bark extract from a pine variety that only grows in one area in southern France, go figure...

Thanks, hopefully it'll just go away at some point, not much gets me down, after fighting cancer, something like this is just annoying at worst. Always a bright side, I can still hear and play guitar, just have to play louder to hear the highs ;)

My Dad has Tinitus. Pretty sure he got it from flying in the USAF. He flew his whole career in the military then flew with a private airliner, 30+yrs? It's terrible to see what he goes through. Could you imagine a deafening ringing in your ears that will not stop and has gone on for decades! He's tried many different treatments and doctors, there's really not much they can do about it. Were still searching trying to find something that might give him some relief.

Amazing how little they know about it, I've read stats that up to 5% of the population will get it at some point in their lives. Fortunately a lot of times it's just temporary, it's the long term cases they need to find some treatment for. If he hasn't tried Pycnogenol, it's worth a try, they've done some clinical studies proving out that it does work @50-100mg, just not always, nor long term with some people. Good thing with it, it's natural, no pharma shit/side effects, it's just pine bark extract. F'n expensive but if it works it's well worth it.

A friend of mine has had it for a few months, ever since he suffered a bad electrocution. He said he used to sleep with the tv on static, just to help block out the high pitched squeak.

He's going to try this app I used to use when I worked near the oil sands. It's called "Sleep machine", but I'm sure there are many similar things out there. You can pick soothing sounds, and then I used to wear ear-buds all the time. I never had tinnitus, but it really helped with sleeping during the never-ending sound of propane bursts.

I think his might go away though. Electrocution just fucks with everything it seems.

It must be REALLY hard to sleep with the squeal. Shit, that's terrible. Would ear buds and soothing noises help? You wouldn't be able to hear anything else, but maybe they'd cancel out?

I've gotten used to it over time, I tried plugs too, they were worse, the sounds inside your head so they just seem to make it louder by blocking all other sounds. Sometimes it's really loud and distracting but only temporary, a good couch lock indica is the best method imo, some good old fashion sex just before going to sleep works well too ;)
