You don't know till you smoke it bro. I mean you might get some nice characteristics in veg, but you will need to wait to see(smoke) the flowers to know for sure.

I got some shots of Blue Tara in the bodhi thread, they are just starting to flower up now. They stretch quite a bit and have massive leaves on em. Beautiful vigorous plants. That's about all I can say to help for now :) they'll be done flowering in a couple months

Thanks a lot for the info. Help me understand this if you grow out the plant and which one was the best you use the clone you took of that plant to keep as your mother?

What I would suggest is start a few seeds, then take 2-3 clones off each seed, label these 1a 2a 3a so 1b 2b 3b and so on. Then flower either the clones once they rooted or the seed plant. Once you have smoked the end results keep the clones/seed plant that are best in your opinion and then toss the ones you weren't the fondest of.

Do the math on what you feel comfortable with, I would take at least bare minimum 2 clones off each to make sure you get one that roots good and has no issues, more if you can. I'd do 4 clones if I was looking for a mother tbh, just for safeties sake. So for 4 seed plants I'd have 16 clones off of those, once they root take the best clones, the ones with the most roots and the best growth and healthy look and toss the others.

Did you find a good mother for blue Tara? Does she seem like a keeper? What do people look for when they keep a strain? Well I guess I know the answer to that if you like potency and taste then keep those strains if you like something that yields a lot keep that strain?

Look for the total package or what you personally feel is the best of the best. It's all personal preference really. Potency flavour yield is pretty much the order I go by.

Generally folks say the really potent strains are lower yielders.

I'm not particularly looking for mother plants :) But I clone everything and if it's great I run it a few times. If it's OK I run soemthing else. I got a nice seed back log to go through.
