You have to take all the right steps... after every run every piece of my equipment gets washed with alchy...then straight into the dishwasher. certain steps like these i think will help a lot with the problem your facing.

OG mixed run, Its been de-waxed. Came out dark as expected, the material was a bit stale but the end result is phenomenal...
Great flavor and clean. I've never really ran a good patty of OG before so the flavor was on point. OG De-Waxed dab.jpg

Lol I ain't got time for that shit.

Hey you say it came out dark as expected. Why would you expect that? If you've already pinpointed the problem in your procedure, change it. (I would say you have several)

There is no problem in my procedure at the moment. Everything has been smooth as butter (knock on wood). The material I was going to run was stale. It was expected that the trichs are also stale. Therefore discolored or stale looking shatter. I guess I'm a logicalist?.... thats not a word but you know what i mean.

What i mean is... There was little or no color transformation from evap process all the way to finished product in stable shatter form.

Thanks, its tastes about as good as it looks up close. not deceiving one bit, besides the coloration of course heh..

so here is something interesting, after winterizing and straining all the fats/waxes etc out, and evaping on PTFE, i went to check it out and there was a tonne of this white liquid. Ive seen it before, but never this much. I tilted the PTFE and poured the white stuff in another dish.

Also i tasted it and it mostly just tasted like water. what you see here is as much as i could just pour off, the rest wasnt moving when tilted

will now continue letting it evap

here is what it looked like this morning after 6-7 more hours of evap. Liquid poured off with milky bottom in small pyrex is just water, im GLAD i poured it off cuz even tho it may have evaped, maybe it would have gone into my bho ? Im not sure but the less moisture the better right?

Will vac tonight after work, leave on counter for more evap today.

when get home will vac with no heat till no reaction, then let collapse and do again with heat

Water from your ethanol is what's making the milk due to the oil mix. I let mine evap, there's oil suspended in that water.

Never evaporated on ptfe... just pyrex or stainless.

That's what i figured it was Snaps. Thats also why i poured off the milky water into another pyrex, since if there is oil in it i won't lose it.

This is my first time trying to evap on PTFE, just received the roll on friday. will advise how it went.

i think i may have let the heat get a bit too hot at the end
I think it looks pretty good.

I am not a fan of the really clear, yellow oil myself. I have tried plenty of oils too!

I like color. At least with alcohol extracts, especially iso. The color is damn near the flavor. No color, no flavor. At least when it comes to premium oil.

All I grow is premium buds, and all I use to make my oil is buds.
