What to do with spare plants? Cull?

I Iike having my mother plant separate as it requires different care regimen to the early veggers. You can clone clones but if we're all honest we like our clones to come from a seed grown mother. Even if it's a first gen clone mother.

You can by all means keep your mother plant in your veg room but it'll take up space you could use for another plant. If you have room I'd get a little cupboard and grow a bonsai mother (little) and just put a couple of little cfls in. No drama.

He germed 9 seeds to safeguard any failures he experienced. I did the same and binned a couple when I started my first grow.

Wow! Not to be rude but wtf are you talking about? Taking a cutting from a cutting is fine and many people do it and keep strains going for years. Also your first post re "why plant so many"? Probably to pick the best pheno out of a few that he will get from seeds would be a start.
cutting from cutting r fine yes I stated it the wrong way in my post but as the cuttings progress they will thin out if u no wot I mean yield will b affected genes will b affected ....

Like reusing an old battery their is only so many times u can replenish the acid to reactivate the battery itself in time it will deplete and strength will b affected this is something similar with cutting of cuttings (a diluted affect) unless u have one he'll of a perfect strain only my opinion so correct me if I'm wrong....

Thanks waterdawg, yeah, i was under the impression that cuttings from cuttings was ok.Ill give it a go anyway, if have have to revert back to seeds at some stage, so be it. Also, yeah, that was part of my plan, top take cuttings from the best plants. Might take more work in the first one or two grows, figuring shit out, but then you have steady flow from the best yielding plants.

Hey Greenhouse. yeah, Ive heard that alright. Ill definately give it a go for a while until I see yields drop, then I may go back to seeds, and start bthe process again. But if I can get away with it for a few go's, should be the better job (cheaper with no seeds, best plants from my bunch, and I will know their yields, growth patterns etc.)

Sorry for the attitude guys! Must have been a bad day at work. Another controversial subject lol. I have takin clones from clones but only a few strains, also know of others that do it. In saying that I have heard of a few saying the progressive clone loses something. And yes a mother can be be kept under less light and growth kept to a minimum. All good points!

It's genetic drift. Plants lose the vigour and potency of the mother plant with continued cloning clone action.

Keep a seed grown and you will never have an issue

Again its contraversial with people keeping a strain running for years from clone.
