My garden was growing good the first month this month though it has turned yellow and has stopped growing. I have a raised bed with squash, cucumber, tomato, yellow pepper and snap beans. Everything is yellow and the snap beans got bean rust a few days ago so I pulled them out.
I know they are Nitrogen def. I have some on order now since my store didnt have anything except slow release and I need something to work quick. Question is will they green back up and start growing again once I get some N back in them? They have been yellow for a month now.

How much blood meal should I add? I already top dressed 2 table spoons around each plant in my garden. Should I do more?
How often should I re apply and should I just throw it in a gallon jub of water and water every few weeks when needed?

Chicken ^^^ above has got it, since the solstice is over and days are getting shorter and colder the plants are confused, and are wanting to mature and seed, take a look around some trees go yellow then red then fall! ...all is OK

No my beans had bean rust disease but the squash and cucumber are bright yellow... They were lush dark green but started turning yellow from tips now all is yellow. I added some Blood meal yesterday things are starting to darken back up not that drastically but I can see a slight difference. it is 100 degrees here so the heat might be another factor in stunted growth. especially with my banana pepper plants just finished germ about 2-3 weeks ago and still only 1" and first set of leaves. they are not growing at all...

Go read a book on organics ..chapter 101 is beans are used to put (N) into the ground its called a cover crop in English I think, like what rich farmers use clover for, to enrich the soil with nitrogen, ...know your plants live well!

a nitrogen fixer like beans probably wont work if your beans are sick. the first thing i would look at is are you over watering? bloodmeal works fast. give it a few days and dont water it every day real heavy unless the heat is bad and they droop. just splash a little water on the blood just to get it breaking down and soaking in. One thing to look at when you do a garden is watch what plants you put next to each other they aren't all compatible.

It should say on the bloodmeal how much per square foot. I always mix it with the soil before planting. the initial hole i plant in has a lighter mix like a big plug so the roots can work down into the good stuff. It gives me a transition phase so the plants dont get cooked.

I have a NPK and PH soil test kit on the way should be here by Saturday. I do that the ground probe I know they are not accurate. The Blood meal I bought was from offline and they put it in a zip baggy so no instructions... but I just springled a few spoon fulls around and worked it into the soil best I could. I do not water my garden at all unless there has been a lack of rainfall but here lately since planting afternoon thundershowers are pretty much everyday but there is plenty of drainage. I was thinking over watering but everything that is in ground looks great! No manures or nitrates... I kind of jumped in unprepared and hoped for the best. It is just for fun as of now I am going to try and get a little more into in next season. I thank you for the tips and I will see how the blood works in a few days and I know one thing I walk outside and it F* Smells horrible but if it works then the smell is worth it. Take care.

Blood meal is one of the richest sources of nitrogen(N) I know of, indeed you got that at 1 teaspoon per square yard or meter ...you are way too hot, unless you are growing indoors, like a greenhouse etc etc, then you may well of missed this season, beans 'LIKE' poor soils so with many legumes, plant in snady or even a used soil for great returns

It is way less than a teaspoon per sq yard. It does not seem to be too hot for them they are greening back up very nicely but still some yellow and loss of the first set of leaves on my squash. Cucumbers came back fine already and the beans are gone. I think I had them in too much direct sun light too though. Thanks for the help. I will post update if anything changes.
