Is it to late in the year to start to grow an auto?

well it's 23 of July of today is it to late to even think of starting my auto again. I was thinking with the nice weather I'm still having at the mo i could re-do my grow because my last plant got snapped in two places. I also now it doesn't matter about the light cycle because there autos but as it gets colder and the sun is not as good would my plant suffer

Really depends on where you live. Where ya from
Agreed, although you may have the conditions now, you will need a place to shelter your babe, prepare a closet area just in case, and you do know the amount of light you will get at your location, at the solstice and both equinoctial postions?

Probably depends on the strain too. Think Different took 100+ days for me outside (all of them and it also wasn't very good). La Diva took significantly less time (and was significantly better than the Think Different but still not great).

you can grow autos anytime you want. they won't yield nearly as much during shorter cooler days.

i agree. think different is mid grade at best. only bought it cuz it had such great reviews in the forums. smelled like brick and took forever to finish. high wears off fast as well.

I was probably overly nice to TD as it's some of the worst smoke I've ever had in this area without a doubt.

Granted there isn't a lot that's bad that hangs around here, but you couldn't give the shit away. It was not good. One decent plant (which smelled like bubblegum vs the rest which smelled awful and were unsmokeable to me) out of over 20 doesn't really get me going either. Some of the plants had horrible negative recessives that I'd be fucking pissed to grow out if I popped a single seed, which I know more than a few do around here.

that was my first time buying seeds from DP after having great results with dinafem and mdanzig. never buying anything from DP again thats for sure.
i remember the breeders pack said TD only takes 70 days from seed to harvest so they lied about that too cuz none of the 7 where even close to finish at week 10.
got a freebie from CH9 that was total crap, culled it after 3 weeks. an auto climax i believe. so thats another breeder i will never spend my money on.
from my XP i would say dinafem, mdanzig, shortstuff, and flash have given me the best results as far as autos go.

Most of the time frames they give u will need to add 15-35 days to as they stipulate the days and time in optimum growing conditions

Last year I started some auto flowers in Aug. I had to bring them indoors at night in Oct and harvested early November. The buds were a little on the fluffy side but the smoke was very heady and the buds were very sticky.
