For the last couple of days I've been noticing, what at first, looked like a metallic sheen over the middle fan leaves. Then that progressed into brown patches on the leaves, then from the brown patches it looked like the brown was turning into yellow patches. Then that progressed into the leaves getting brittle and curling upward then die! I've been looking in my books I have here at home and on the internet and I can't quite find the problem I'm having. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!? I have attached as many pics as I could, if you would like me to take some more better pics I can try.

SETUP:

Darkroom II DR-150
Ushio- Hilux Gro AHS 1000/Opti-Red (1000W SUPER high output HPS with maximized output in both red and blue spectral range)
Top-Drip DWC bubbleponic system

NUTRIENTS:
GH Flora Series (half strength)
Cal-Mag (half Strength)
Aquashield (half strength)

Last check: PH=5.9, PPM=880

For the last few days my PH has been running high, I bring it down and it shoots right back up to about 6.4!
I just tried cooling my res down with frozen water bottles to see if that helps with the PH.

The tub on the left are regular growing trees, the ones on the right have been main-lined.
I hope I have provided enough information, if not just ask and you shall receive!

THANX AGAIN FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!20140424_140839.jpg 20140419_172518.jpg 20140419_172453.jpg 20140424_140751.jpg 20140424_140733.jpg 20140424_140820.jpg 20140419_172506.jpg

I only tried hydro once, and it didn't turn out very well.
I'll respond to give your post a bump.
Notice you are using half strength nutes, but your plants look big enough for full doses.
Also, I am aware of cooling res is essential, but sudden changes to plants environment (including root systems) can be devastating to them.
That's just my 2 cents, I hope a more advanced hydro grower can help you out.

Thank you ProHuman for your time, the advice, and the "bump". Imma take your advice and bump the nutes to full, I was just a lil scared at first to add too much too soon. This is my first grow too, I guess I'm being a lil too cautious! But also I wanted to figure out what's wrong with my plants first before I go changing things. :-) THANX AGAIN!!

its your ph and res temps. having a wack ph can kill a plant quickly in dwc-there is nothing to buffer it. My buddy stops dwc in favor of coco dtw during the hot months.

Dev,
I'm not sure what's going on with your plant. I'm kinda thinking ph may be the right answer.

Mostly I wanted to suggest that you NOT double your nutrients. Adding nute burn onto whatever else is going on surely would ring the death knell for your plants. There's no obvious sign that your plant needs more nutrients.

I think your right about a few things JD. Thank you! I guess my thinking is giving them more nutes would give them a POWER UP so to speak!! But, like I said before, I would like to figure out what's going on with my plants first before I go fartin around with things!

I have to disagree Ash, only because its not powdery or white. Not to say those are the only signs of fungus or anything. But thanx for the input.

It's your roots man. Are you running a live or sterile res? Do you have enough aeration? Running any tea or bennes?

And yeah, i would not up your nutes, it'll make things worse.

If that's rust like he's saying, rub it and it will come off the plant on your fingers. Like a powder. Very rare. If not, and it's just dried leaf (like i suspect), it's your roots gone to shit. Happend to me everytime as a newbie. Look into bennes.

Any update on this? I have a plant doing this in a 100%perlite Hempy. I think I caused it by not alternating feed and plain water. I flushed good and watered with plain water. Not going to feed for a week, then going half strength.
