What happen to the vanilla in the vanilla kush?

VK used to be one of my all time favorites, but the last 6 times I have tried it I have yet to get that vanilla taste and smell. It's more kushy and menthol with hints of pine. Doesn't even smell the same burning, no frankensense,murr smell if ya know what I mean. Did they change it over the past few years or. Have I just been unlucky?
