thank you my friend...I will take that luck! haha.... hey, so outta curiosity, how do people who run 24/0 all the way thru succeed? just curious if the smoke would be rendered useless if grown in full light. or would it be weak according to the trichs only growing in dark....?
I've grown about a half dozen autos in the past 8 months, and I've ran 24/0 on all of them, I've gotten an average of over 2 oz from each and have had great trichome production. These have all been Nirvana NL and Barney's PE

I was kinda skeptical that trichs ONLY grew in the dark because as you say, you have been successful in 24/0. I am still not interested in running that schedule all the way thru, mainly because I don't want to pay that power bill.... I like the idea of \running it 24/0, moving it to 18/6, and then finish out in 12/12. has any one else tried something like that?

I've never run 24 flat on light for a whole grow. Two main reasons, one your plants will be much happier; two your electric bill will be much lower :-)

Thank You. I've been doing this a while so I'm lucky enough to not have to rush to smoke (but I remember those days, all the old "quick dry" ideas :-)) and I'm old. Being old I enjoy the taste and aromas more and I have more time. I compare fine weed to fine wine all the time. Maybe I could work on a WeedWine.

And some strains that I only grow every couple year I cure for 3-6 months. A lot of guys do. Gets out as much chlorophyll as possible while evenly drying. It's trick but not hard, and like everything in this field there are a million ideas on how to do it best.

I just got in a new 600 watt cool tube hps, and I'm upping from 1-2 plants at a time, to 5'ish, so I'll also be switching to an 18/6 schedule after the first couple of weeks at 24/0 under the cfls and 150 watter. But, personally, I don't see the point in running autos on 12/12 at all. But that's just me.

Unless you like shorting yourself on yield I would not use anything below 18\6 for any part of an autos life. I have grown autos in many different fashions. And for the statement that Trichomes only develop in the dark, really man? I suggest getting hands on experience before making claims like this that are obviously wrong. If I were willing to cut myself short on quality and yield of my meds by worrying about the electric bill I would look into a new hobby.

Not sure about the whole "They only grow in the dark" but plants do need downtime. Even if a few hours. If your curious as to why, that Danny Danko over at HighTimes does a pod cast and the last episode I listened to one of them from this month, forgot the exact one, the cultivation segment went through this topic in some depth. Long story short, give them a few hours of dark. While 24/0 may work, they explain why its not the "ideal" method and why even a short night cycle will help your plants grow bigger.

I run DWC for both photos and autos. I give the autos 4 hours of rest each night. If I get anything less than 6oz from a plant I'm shocked, then again mine are monsters in that DWC, if I got only 2oz like someone posted above I'd ditch the strain or figure out where I was going wrong.

I grow 24/0 and have no issues. Autos have a set life span and cycle and will/do produce trichs when under constant light. I would say growing a regular plant under 24/0 would certainly be a bad thing never letting it go into the flowering cycle.

I put the seeds in water on Jan 6th. Took the first plant on April 10th and second on the 17th. The second came back a little slower after last transplant. I've grown this before, it like 12/12 the last 4 weeks, stay light on Mag. and just water the last ten days and a 48 dark period before harvest. They shared a 600w hps with two other plants and all nutes were supplied from the soil (I mix my soil and layer it per plant, I don't add nutes in water). That's what works for me. She also like it about 77°F and 45% humidity.

can you tell me your full lighting schedule again? I want to run the same. the results you got are plenty enough to convince me.

This has inspired me heavily.
I'm a newbie and learning.

Could I please pester you for as much detail as possible regarding schedule for light. I will be doing dwc rather than organic as I know nothing about what is good or crap quality soil etc. Than again I still need to research nutes for my dwc approach... Too many to choose from!

Regardless I'm going with this nirvana auto.

Than you for such an informative thread :)

Does this strain stink the room it's being grown in as such?
