had some issues this grow and had 2 plants hermie out of 12. ive since harvested and my flowers are currently drying out in my flower tent. I plant on jarring the flowers probably on Friday then doing a "hazmat: style clean up in the tent. my question is how long is the pollen that may have exploded in my room viable for? im not looking to collect it obviously, just wanting to know when it "dies" so I can clean my room and
move my next round in it w/o any chances of pollen getting on my new batch of flowering plants.

also, when cleaning the room, whats the best solution to use and percentages? 80/20 h20/bleach, 75/25 h20/alcohol, ??????

thanks everyone

Spray the entire tent down with water.....immediately will sterilize any pollen present.

no pollen is not killed with water . and pollen will stay and be able to fuck new plants after 10 or 20 years after its in the room. you need to use BLEACH AND SOAP AND WATER and wipe every thing and then you can use GLASS CLEANER , to wipe the room again after its cleaned . once you think its cleaned . clean again . and don't for get to wipe fans walls floors lights every damn thing . then you SHOULD be ok . I would wipe one more time in a few days with glass cleaner after all the dusts settle .

I'm assuming if you get a chem sprayer (the easy way) Mix bleach n water, use lots of bleach it seems to kill everything lol. I would pump that shit up and douse the whole area, and surrounding areas outside the tent with the spray, and all the walls, floor, ceiling, equipment. Scrub...
Doubt much can survive that, wear a respirator if you can, and goggles. The shit will burn your lungs and eyes BADLY.

I have read & always followed the 3 to 5 yr and its old policy. ;) I store all my pollen being it male or feminized in the fridge in an airtight container. Old film containers work great for this.bump.gif

I think he meant that after spraying the pollen all down with water, maybe their airborne qualities diminish?, so they won't get airborne as easily? I'm grasping at straws...

Yeah, its always good to spray your tent/grow room & plants down with water after pollinating. I try & wait a few though. I also take the females I have pollinated into a totally different room while they are being pollinated so I don't have any cross pollination going on. Then after I start seeing the strains calyxes start to swell I then add them back to the flowering room/tent.

Pollen is not viable after a couple of weeks or so, unless it is stored properly. Mist walls with tap water to be sure. Had the same issue, grew a new crop in same room 3 weeks after that fucked up harvest, no issues at all. Peace

Pffft :D I intentionally pollinated my entire cab, and then true to form, i said fuck sterile, and just kept growing. None of the plants i grew following the pollen chuck suffered a single issue of getting pollinated.

This is wrong. Where are you getting this info and why are you feeding it to people?

thanks everyone. just looking to make my room "sterile" before I move my next batch of 12 plants in the designated flower room. I don't want this batch to hermie on me. right now they are crammed in a 4x4x6.5 tent (10 plants), and im sure they are not getting adequate light. but it will have to do for now. I still have 2 more days of drying time in the infected flower room before I start my hazmat clean-up.

I was thinking of this cleaning regimen: bleach/h20, bleach/h20, iso/h20, iso/h20, water only over the course of 2 days. im not sure wtf happened. it from a new clone I got from a fellow grower friend, or I have light leaks. but my other harvest would have hermied as well. I don't know. chalk it up to a new experience in rowing I suppose.

Cool deal. Just don't stress them in anyways and they shouldn't hermie on you. Some strains are just prone to hermie more so then others. I have recently been working with Power Pie from Sincity and have got word that just about all of the PP'S hermie. I am using it in a newer cross of ours. Named it Power Strokin. However it needs to be worked with before the hermie trait is recessive. Power Pie#2. week 3 and half flowering.JPG there she is.. ;) Power Pie#2 week 3 & half flowering..JPG

Let's make this really simple. You DO NOT have to hazemat your tent. Just spray with tap water and the shit washes away and becomes useless, immediately. Luv ya

Dank, nice looking tops you have there.

since you are into cross pollinating and such, whats the "shelf life" of the pollen that may be in my tent leftover? ive gotten so many different answers im not sure what to go with. numerous people say 3-5 days, some say 3-5 yrs like above. I do have the ability to make my flower room 62* and 20-25% r/h if that could help nullify the pollen that may be in the room.

thanks
