Light mover strong enough vertical? Help

I would like like to set up some light vertically, using 6 inch cooltube http://www.ebay.com/itm/400300121972
with a Light Rail 3.5 Complete Kit - 10RPM Kit Intelli-Drive Grow rpm http://www.ebay.com/itm/200697314130

Anyone know if the 3.5 lightrail would be strong enough to lift 6 of the cooltubes about 18 inches up and down ?

I've seen some guys' setup from here and on ICMAG that moves two lights; one goes up while the other goes down, counterweight style.

If I wanted to move a lot of lights, I would consider building several of these.

I have a light rail 5.0, the heavy duty model. No way does it have enough traction to lift that weight. Perhaps if you carefully counter balance them with really good bearings it might be possible. The drive wheels are small and don't have much pressure on them.

The way I've seen guys do it is by having a light fixture at each end, and the little mover doesn't have to lift anything because the two lights counterbalance one another.

Red thank you i thought about the heavy duty 100 lbs 5.0 rail, and you just confirmed that it would be a waste of money,

One light per mover and we had heavy duty movers but you can cover a ton of canopy with 3 600s lol

i do this with one light a counter weight and two pulleys i am going out of town but i will get some picks up i think there are some on my thread doc lab. look at whodatnations threads he runs two lights with his.

i did this with a pulley system and a light rail 3.5 and it worked fine with 2 1000s.. just had it setup. so as it goes up.. the other is going down.. so it acts like a counter weight.. had a rope hooked up to the mover itself.. pulleys at each end where i wanted the bulbs to go up and down.. and then as the mover goes back and forth.. the lights go up and down. worked great.. i did it with 2 1000s.. with no issues. u ould proly just also make it were the motor is stationary.. and have a setup to pull them up and down as the motor runs.. iuno i think the pulley system worked way better and caused less stress on the motor.
