Noticed some leaves on the bottom are showing a P deficiency just after taking photos. And the plants looks kinda droopy and weak. I usually mix my nutes and ph test it with the dropper kit after mixing.IMG_0450.JPG
I always mix enough nutes to do 4 days feed and never test ph after initial mixing and after noticing these leaves leave went into a slight panic and started googling and found the ph to be really low, 3.5-4...yikes.

I wish I had been more diligent with testing and wonder if I having to acidic feedings the entire time and just now have really noticed? This would explain the deep green leaves from what I have read and have a couple questions.

-Should I do a couple gallon flush tomorrow then let it dry out for a day then resume feeding as normal?
-Could molasses making the solution slightly darker be giving me inaccurate ph readings using the dropper kit?
-Could the sand I added to kill off the gnats have any impact on the medium?

I'm going to start mixing the nutes and letting them sit for an hour then ph test them again before feeding.

Kinda frustrating to nurse something this long and do something like this to it, I hope I can salvage it and return it to health. Pretty nervous after seeing this shit, cheers.

What I said before is also relevant with cocco/perlite aka your hempy bucket:)

I would flush as your leaves are still showing plenty of nutes............P def??? don't see it

remember that a toxicity is way worse than a def and will cause major yield loss.

IDK if molasses is acidic or alkaline......maybe someone can chime in

Sand is not causing your acidic readings

Top tip that. N Toxicity has symptoms of dark green, claw like leaves. The dark green is a tell tale sign of too much N, not too be confused with overwatering or underwatering, just my input. Peace.

K I did a complete flush using only ph' drain water. I will let the coco dry off for a day then have a good inspection and perhaps water once more with plain water then resume normal feeding.

I will post an update with pics tomorrow and see if there is any noticeable change, cheers for checking in.

No noticeable changes to make pics worth it, Im away from it over the weekend so I will update on sunday and see if it has returned to a lighter shade of green.

K after 5 days of no nutes trying to get rid over the over-ferting/nitrogen toxicity things appear well. A picture update as promised and any thoughts you guys have are appreciated.

I just fed with a half strength of recommended nutes and added calmag to the solution that I previously didn't have, my 2 new RW-75 should arrive this week and more careful monitoring of ph and no heavy feedings I hope to bring this girl back to health.

Before:

After:IMG_0461.JPG
IMG_0462.JPG

The use of the flash in the before photo makes it appear lighter than what it was, as you can tell without the flash in the after photo it looks a more natural shade of green.

I attempted some macro shots and photos using the loupe, forgive me for quality guys, Im a shit photographer.

From now on I'm going to follow PSUAGRO's advice and stick to feed-flush-flush-feed....etc and when the new lights arrive lightly pull the main colas away to open up canopy and bathe it in double the light.

Learning experience for sure and really appreciate the views and advice, no more over loving the girl (except for countless hours of staring at it drinking beers and enjoying its sweet smell)

It really does smell so delicious Im tempted to just make some toast and smear it on the toast and eat it, I am for sure looking forward to the first sampling.

I will bring it outside to the sunlight for proper photos in the near future just gotta pick my moment as Im sure the neighbours or anyone else that may see may not appreciate it as much as me :)

Cheers

Hey guys, little present was waiting for me when I got home in the form of the 2 new RW-75's
IMG_0463.JPG
Its a fucken cable jungle but I have all I need to convert the space into 3 sections and will tackle the task maybe tomorrow evening if I have the energy after work.

Did a shitty sketch to help me with ideas and will more or less mimic MrFlux's cabinet, here is the nuts and bolts of itCabinet2.png

I think I will use the Hans in the veg section as it did really well at that and the RW-75s are so much easier on the eyes which is important as I do look in there quite often :).

The rw75 are very well made and the ratchet system sent with them makes changing the height a snap as opposed to the chain link set up i had before, which brings me to ask at which height do you guys feel is optimal height?, they are around 8 inches above canopy at the moment.

Heres a couple more pics anyway, after sorting the ph level with flushing and waiting after mixing nutes to let them "air" then re-testing I think I should be more on top of such a simple thing in future. I just bought some general hydroponics Koolbloom to finish them off, this feed combine with twice the light should see them flourish for their last couple weeks, trichs are still 100% clear so Im not sure if that is an indication of how long is left but it seems like a good time for the feed.

Gonna clean up the space from cable cluster fuck, line all the walls, door and ceilings with diamond mylar and get the new beans germing the day I do all that.

Cheers for checking, any advice is welcome and appreciated and thank you to those checking in, liking and commenting. All the best

I think the height is good on the RW75 panels...........just check the girl for any signs of stress(twisting/"tacoing"/curling) on the tops.

I hear you on the the "purple" spectrum being irritating to the eyes...........personally I hate it, but it works for Hans;P

good luck and be safe grower

I read a51's optimal height was 12-16" after making the post so I raised them up to around 12". I figure seeing as there is 2 slightly angled inward this will be sufficient.

Really want this to start "moving" again after my mishaps and stuff, gonna try take a couple clones and reveg them and have another go at this strain at some point as I feel had I been better it would deliver a lot more. I have already learnt a few things and am sure I will improve.

Next investment will be a ph pen, tossing up between a $10 cheap or splashing on a decent $40ish one, I think I'll be prepared to spend more on a better one as I've learnt from past mistakes you get what you pay for more often then not. Any recommendations?

I am starting to see cloudy trichs now and was wondering how long should I keep feeding until I begin flush, I just finished off the last nutrients batch I mixed and don't wanna mix anymore if I should begin flushing for a week, I'll do some research just wanted to hear a couple of opinions.

Is there a general time frame once the first cloudy trichs that could help me decide, should I wait till a see a few amber trichs before flushing or does it needs to be more of a preemptive type thing?

A full 8 weeks has past since the day of flip and from what I have read I want 7 days with no nutes, I want a an up high so am aiming for 10%~ amber I think

They don't look ready to me, don't notice much swelling.. I've had triches cloud at week 4.. Personally I wait until they are almost done before I do any types of flushing..

Yeh I want to wait as long as it takes just inexperience has me do little "panics" about certain thing. There are still a fair amount of clear trichs as well so I watch it over the week.

Is 7 days fluting sufficient in Hempy systems or is it a case of the longer you flush the better?

Ill try my hand at some macro shots through the microscope and see if I can get some good close ups after work today.

Things are looking really healthy in there since the ph flushing a week ago and starting to add Koolbloom so I hope I can keep it going another 2-3 weeks to maximise the weight.

Ok guys, heres what will be the final pics pre-harvest. She has fought well through my neglect and what not and fucking reeks now. *mental note...dont think a cheap filter will suffice*. She's been under the 2 RW-75s I bought for the past 2 weeks.

Week 10
IMG_0466.JPG IMG_0468.JPG

Attempted macro shot, ts so hard using my little magnifying glass thing pressed against the camera lens but the trichs are around 5% amber. With a few clears on the lower buds.IMG_0469.JPG

Im pretty much ready to finish now as its been to long and wanna finish this girl to do the cabinet conversion and get on with more strains.
IMG_0471.JPG
Im doing the chop this coming sunday with a mate and began pure ph'd water flushing 3 days ago which means it will get a 10 day flush.

I have learnt a lot and will continue to improve and learn next grow.

Cheers for checking in stoners, peace

I noticed one little detail that can't be seen with the naked eye but only on the last photo, is the bud second down on the top left slightly bleached? Its looks normal to my eyes but the camera shows little white spots, is that from the intensity of the lamp "tricking" the camera or bleaching?

I raised the light an inch and a half anyways but that one bud is about an inch higher than the rest and was around 8-9 inches from the lamp.

Cheers

Hey guys, these are the final pics, cut her down today and took some photos during the process.

A brief recap if you can't be fucked going back through the thread.

She spent 90% of her life under a new 80w hans panel from seed in a 50/50 coco perlite 1.5 gallon hempy bucket. Her last 2 weeks were under the 2 RW-75s I ordered.

I vegged for approx 6 weeks and experienced a few issues stressing the plant out. I fed her canna A+B for the first 70% of her life, then added calmag with about 3 weeks left and Koolbloom with 2 weeks to go.

I was naive and a bit of a know-it-all going into it and realised how much better and faster it could have been had I not tried to cut corners and save minuscule amount of money on necessities. It is really true with almost everything I have used or bought throughout the project that you get what you pay for and will take this in for the next round.

Im content with the results but feel there is so many more ways to optimise the space now, I just want to get this dried and jarred and onto the next one. I need to get a better filter for starters as it fucking reeks and I bought a cheap one thinking it would suffice. Im going to grow them smaller and faster next round.

I will do the cab conversion and get the new ones started and begin a new thread. I am going grow one plant under each rw75 and use the hans for vegging.

I will post final weight and smoke report next weekend.

Thanks so much for stopping by and thanks to those that liked and helped me out. Cheers
