Can anyone identify this nute issue? pics

Hi All,

Having a little trouble with some discoloration on my babies, can anyone help identify?

Used rootbastic from seeding for 2 weeks, now in week 4, stopped using them and moved to veg nutes about a week ago.

Using 70% of recommended dose of Ionic Grow

My theory is a deficiency after taking them off root stimulants, does this hold water? Or does anyone suspect nute burn?

Thanks

I don't know too much about nute burn, I've always started off at around 1/4 strength for the first week of feeding (around week 2 above soil) then 1/2 strength around week 2-2 1/2 and so on and never had troubles with burn. On your last but one pic it looks to me like heat burn?? What lights are you usin? And at what height?

Happy Growing :)

400W HPS
average temperature 26c

Yeah I think the light was too close at the time, moved it up to about 30cm above now.

I think I might have NPK deficiency due to the spots being on the lower leaves, also the top leaves still have good colour, and there is no stunted growth issues.

I think that it might be because I took them off the root stims, so I might put them back on it. Most sites say you should use it only at the start, but a friend said that I should use it all the way through.

Would it be safe to use both grow nutes, and root stim at the same time?

Peace

I keep my 2 600w hps lights about 30-45cm above the canopy at all times as so not to burn the leaves, if you can hold your hand comfortabley underneath for about 20-30 secs without discomfort you will be fine.

I've had the same issue with yellowing leaves from the base and gradually rises up, as far as I'm aware its N deficiency or a build up in the soil preventin N being absorbed

Happy Growing :)

ya the tops look like light was to close or a hot spot in your tent from lack of air movement
the lowers look to be not enough light i usually loose the first real leaf on the plant on almost every grow seeing how the canopy covers them up
the black necrotic patches could possibly be from overwatering ive had that happen before could be your ph getting out of wack

Thanks for the replies. Some more images for you guys

No worries about the tops anymore i don't think, but the yellowing on one is getting worse lower down :S

I don't think the lack of light is an issue as I have another two which i haven't raised yet, and they're doing fine at almost the same height as the yellowing which is occurring on the older one.

No Dolomite used, using Ionic Grow 3-1-5 and Root Bastic (~0.2ml per litre, recommended between 0.1-0.3) which has K,Cal,Na, Mag, Fe, Manganese, Zink and Boron

depends on genetics and conditions on height
bottom pic on your last post rear left plant that plant is praying the leafs are pointing up like a Y
they just call it praying for magnesium the leaves can also get a chrome bleaching ,yellow out or get white or rust colored spots its different plant to plant its a magnesium def could also be a N def but i would start with cal/mag seeing how every pheno shows a def a lil different and has totally different nute demands from plant to plant of seeds from the same batch that plant may require alot more then the others nute wise which would make it a nute whore
i just said google it so you could learn it yourself instead of me just saying cal/mag when it looks like a N def but i honestly think you would get more benefit from a stronger dose of magnesium then you would from a veg feed honestly

Thanks, sorry for the late reply.

Checked to see how ph was doing, had 5.9 runoff, so I think the soil was around a 5.7~5.8

Did a flush and have had them off the nutes every 3rd water, also added some extra cal/mag and moved them to bloom since last post. The yellowing hasn't stopped, but has reduced quite a bit. I reckon some of them will be yellowing due to the top canopy though, will get some pictures up soon
