Isolating Pure CBD.

I'm wondering if this is possible? How could we extract the CBD solely from say a plant like Charlotte's web, harlequin, cannatonic, or any strain for that matter. Could we separate these cannabanoids efficiently? Thanks

but yes it can easily be done
my choice would probly be centrifugation.
it's also a decent bit more polar than thc, that can be used to the solvent workers advantage

you could also try breaking down the thc. heat it in solution not air..like reflux over a double boil. to limit cbn formation but it does in ways act more like cbd and may be beneficial, once it hits about 400° it starts rapidly forming cbn. cbd and cbn are extremely stable compared to thc. what thc is left will be turned to less potent forms delta 8 etc as it gets broken down. you will at least drastically increase the cbd ratio

The fade over CBD looks very much like the mistake made by pharmaceutical company banking all on THC.
The cannabis plant has over 80 cannabinoids and the balance of those cannabinoids is the magic.
It is always a question of balance in nature and we should not forget it.

any real lab would just synthesize it like we do thc.. basic dispensary "labs" would use my aforementioned method, a few already do

I agree with that balance frenchy speaks of mainly for recreational use

I completely agree that every part of the plant should be processed for medicine, if we want to treat it as a medicine, however THC is not manageable in some, it is nauseating for some folks who don't consume it on a regular basis.

Have we done enough research on each of the individual cannabanoids removing variables, to say they are all necessary as a pack to provide any sort of relief?

I have read about whole plant processing with RSO and making medicines, but what about other ailments? Perhaps some of the cannabanoids aren't specific to certain ailments.

Don't heat the flowers or oil and the THC will remain in a non-psychoactive form. No need to isolate CBD IMO.

Yes. Prior to activating THC and CBD have an extra amino acid and are in the form of THC-A and CBD-A which cannot pass the blood brain barrier. I have used a full spectrum non-decarbed oil on a seizure patient with great results. Dry ice extraction of cannabinoids infused in to room temp oil (gel caps work very well for this) then refrigerated.

Well cbd effects the brain as does thc, and I don't just mean cb receptors., cbd doesn't give the euphoric slightly trippy up high though. and unlike cb1, cb2 receptors are located throughout the body and you can feel certain medicinal effects from cbda as the compounds only need decarbed to cross the blood brain barrier. but you miss out on alot of benefits from cbd as well as other compounds this way..unless your just looking to localize effects like for arthritis etc or certain topical cancers it really needs to hit the brain

Not sure if I'm understanding this post totally. If the thcA and cbcA cannot pass the blood brain barrier then how does the cbd get metabolized through the brain and body?
I'd love to be able to to isolate cbd's and I thought people were doing this already in different places around the world.
I remember seeing a show on t.v. about a guy in Cali that was working with a lab that isolated almost pure cbd oil for seizure patients. Sorry I can't remember the show and the exact content of it but that was the jist of it. The guy ended up getting arrested and the government and cops tried to keep him from doing it any more.

I know a person here locally that supplies oil to cancer treatment doctors but they aren't isolating the cbd's on their own. I'd love to help do this if it was possible.

Any one have any ideas on the cost of equipment to do this?

Any links to more info on this?
