maybe cut the nutes down to 3/4 of a gal (roughly) and yes add about a 1/2 gallon on top of that of pure water... I add 1/4 gallon of water before feeding the nutes, then after feeding nutes I add about another 1/4 gallon of pure water, well spread out of course... there is a link to my journal so you can see what I mean...

I live in SE usa and fire ants and other ants are everywhere. Every 2-3 weeks I spray a mixture of cayenne pepper, garlic 2 drops dish detergent in with a gallon of water - on the undersides of the leaves. On the ground/soil, I use ORTHO Ant b gone..

I hope that is helpful.

Another ant killer is (believe it or not) is Aunt Jemima slow-cooking grits:

First - Don't use this method unless you follow this first step:

1. Make sure the ground is completely dry and there is NO rain in the forecast..

2. After checking the weather forecast, and at the very heat of the day, get a dry container and put some of the DRY Grits in, go around the property right to the anthills, and pour a thin "line" of grits from the hill and outward a foot or so.

3. Repeat Step 2 until all anthills are covered.

THAT'S IT. What happens is that the ants eat the grits - it's carbs; about an hour or so the ANTS explode as the grits becomes moist inside of them - there's nowhere for the slow-cooking grits to go once water hits them...

That's why the ground/soil must be completely DRY and no rain in the forecast.

good luck.

ants here in cali are usually more helpful than they are a threat, unless you see them herding aphids, then praying mantises and lots of lady bugs do the trick perfectly.

I use neem oil for that, but you have to spray very generously on top and undersides (dripping) - I haven't used anything for my budders, just plants vegging. So, it's harmless but some say it (neem oil) affects the taste - anybody wanna chime in with thoughts?

spider webs are good until you get into flower. Play music right next to your plants. The plants will love the music, the spiders will hate it and move away. You need like a solid 3 to 4 hours of music to do a decent job, and make sure you go through and get as much of the webbing out as possible. Its good to have spiders around because they eat other bugs that could harm your crop, but during flowering the webs will catch due and other moisture, even molds and fungus's that could transfer to your plants. A good folair spray while your playing the music would help tremendously. Make sure its light on anything you add to it though.

yes from seed.so ill start clearing any insects when flowering starts. music really works to keep spiders off?does it need to be loud? i tend to let my kids swim by the area so the plants can hear talking, laughter.

long, thin fingers=sativa and broad medium leaves are indica. ruderalis can be ethier, but usualy have a double razorbacked leaf. most of the "purple" strains i have heard of are an indica or a 70/30 indica/sativa cross.
