Welcome : I'll have to have someone else advise you as I'm too ignorant still on what to do for cold climates.

There are people giving good advice on this forum - listen to them, and read the FAQs.

Good luck!

lol all you could do is to get them inside somewhere. theres no way they'll grow outdoors in the cold.

Thumbs up Im also an oregonian growing outside this year

If you have plants that are up and out of the dirt its not too late

it would be far better to get out and put them in the ground and harvest a small crop in october than let them freeze this winter.
If you dont have live plants , dont start any

I can post further help but i need to know your exact situation.
who's your roomies, parents or college buddies
how big are your plants/how many do you have

i guess the bottom line is if you have live plants they need to go outside
ASAP
If you absolutely need to keep a mother alive through the winter reply to this post and ill help, I did it last year, but i didnt have to hide them from anyone except my landlord.

So the answer to your question is for an outdoor grow you would harvest the plant when it is mature and let it die. There are thing you can do to create a few seeds for your crop for the next year. Please do not grow on your parents property without their permission. VV
