hey guys, my crop is in its second week of flowering and im starting to get scared that it might attract my neighbor's cats. Is there an efficient way to keep cats away from my crop?

put some vinegar around the area you want to keep them out of, they hate the smell of vinegar and are scared of snakes.

Well, cats don't like wet, so maybe mulch a perimeter and keep that moist? They also don't like walking on chicken wire and they HATE getting zinged w/BB's! (probably shouldn't be target practicing on your neighbors cat)
If you're as good an aim as I, there's no danger of actually hitting the damn cat, but the confusion still runs 'em off.

thanks guys i got one more issue. this might just be over reacting but will birds mess with my crop too? and if so what can i do keep them away?

A touch paranoid? I've got cats, birds that can get into where my plants are but they aren't interested in the least - they have other things to do. The birds get my strawberries and tomatos, but only when they start to turn red.

If you are really worried, you can get bird net at lawn/garden store (I paid $11 for a 14x14 size) and create a structure for it to hang off of/around to surround your plants. It's very thin but durrable.

If you are worried about cats, then use chicken wire on the structure and then drape w/ bird net.

But if you're going to be worried, worry about snails, slugs, grasshoppers, leaf miners, thrips, white fly, powdery mildew....
