Last years yield??

Any topping involved??
no topping by me(but i have lots of little lorekeats around my place and they have a habit of attacking the plants they love the fresh new growth)so i think they may have had a bit of a nibble,,

The picture in your avatar from last year, how much did you yield dry weight? Got anything of larger resolution?

for sure im guna be following this one...i've had a plan like this on my mind for 3 years.
i think the only thing your missing is a pickaxe....one of my best friends seing as we only have 6 inches of soil, and feet of clay under that.....its lots more work but TOTALY worth it. i have seen the effect of fishing holes....we used salmon we pick up off the side of the river (sockeye spawn in our lake), and you can prighty much watch the plant grow when it hits the fish :D

the only trouble is that i have 4 foot of clay then twelve foot of limestone under me.
no chance of me digging into that..:-)

yea, under the soil is just a solid layer of dry red clay for around 30' (where i live)......its impossible for us to grow unless you pickaxe it/have a uberchewer (one of those gas powered mulchers).....if worst comes to worst, just wet the clay and then pick it....it comes out in layered chunks, and its not as bad as you expect.

it is worth the time/effort because the more freedom the roots have, the bigger the plant will be......lose soil + Huge pot +long growing season=massive plant...+nutes=monster.

*i was at the miners memorial day celebration on vancouver island a month ago......if they can pick agite you can pick clay.

here is an update picture it is starting to show some slow growth, but we still have a long way to go.
also some photo's of another plant i will be growing in the garden bed next to the other plant.
this one is in a big pot and is planted straight into cow shit (there is a little sand in there somwhere) straight from the cattle yards.

we will see how it goes:hump:
