hey i got these woods behind my apartment complex...huuuuuuuuge area and theres a swamp and a pond and you can get through quite a ways and get to different islands i was planning on building a hut type thing on one of the islands (the soils shit there its all swampy) but the roof would be all glass to let sun in. im planning on setting up a small hydro setup in it but my question is this would i some how be able to hook a timer up to a car battery plug the pump into the timer and use the car battery as power? any help greatly appreciated

Thats alot of juice for a car battery...Ithink...Hows the ph of the swamp water maybe you can do the wick type of hydro?

u get solar pumps cheap now a days go for that if u can get sea water then give them that its got salts what the plant needs u can get a 12 volt pump which can work with solar and u can recharge lets say a lorry battery witch would last a good while u can recharge battery with a solar charger sound good......luck...........

how about using hillbilly bayou buckets? that's my ne variation on my desert buckets...basically, it's a hempy bucket with a soil basket(1/4"mesh)taking the top half, and wicking material from the basket to the bottom...suspend the bucket on a thick styro-float between 3 posts driven into the swamp, to stabilize and suspend the bucket, so the waterline is at the hempy hole..you have buckets in the swamp water....who would look there? I'm sure there's kinks to be worked out, as were the desert buckets(no hempy hole..just reservoir)
