Default When To Plant Outside, Northern Area

Ok, I will in the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan area, and I was wondering, anybody with experience when should I plant my seedlings into the ground?

I am incapable of getting them beyond the point of germination in my house, so I need to plant the germinated seeds straight into the ground.

Thanks for all the info in advance.

The beginning of june if you want to be sure about not having any frost problems. You could put them in the ground now but you will need to be close enough to visit them and cover them up at night if it is going to freeze or go down to the low 40s. Cover them the evening before then visit them again in the morning to uncover.
Also if you have the cash you could buy a really small green house and heat it at night.

hope that helps....

That does help, I live in town, and my plot is about a mile away, so I can't really go cover it every night, if I do plant early June, will they have enough time to flower and bud completely?

Also, the seeds I used are just random seeds I accumulate when I smoke some 'erb.

I know in the NE Ohio region, the latest recorded frost is May 22nd..... Farmers Almanac says May 3rd for this year (for what that's worth) haha. To be safe, you may want to wait till around Memorial Day (May 26th I believe) I know alot of people who find that to be the magic date for them..... ~Outlaw~

if you plant June 1st you should be okay, the summer solstice is like June 21 (longest "daylight" day of the year) after June 21 the nights slowly become longer making them flower.

might have shorter plants cause planting so late, but hey bud is bud! Grow season starts like late march early April if not a little sooner here so i am fortunate

If ya planted in june they will grow huge. Your biggest problem is the strain. Will they finish before they freeze.

Call your local garden store and ask them when it's safe to put tomatoes out in your area. The area you're talking about (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan) varies far too widely for us to give you an accurate answer here. In Minnesota alone, growers in the southern part of the state had their plants in the ground a week and a half ago, while growers in the Iron Range still had a foot of snow on the ground.

Planting in June will give them plenty of time to bud for sure. but since you are using bag seeds you won't know what month in the fall they will be ready for harvest, but since most all the weed you can buy is largely Indica then you should be just fine. I would guess that the latest they would be ready is early October but probably sooner.
