Default How big should the hole be?

O.K. Lets say you are gonna vegg some clones under a 400 watt hps for 4 weeks. Then, in early July you are gonna transplant them outside. They will start to bud in late August. How deep and wide should the hole be that you are transplanting them into be? Thank you for your time and responses!

I would dig a hole about twice the size of your pot........ you have good soil right around the base of the plant, and your going to be feeding the plant nutes, so whatever the roots do outside of your hole, doesn't matter.

I do not grow outdoor, this is just my opinion, you can wait for the outdoor people to give you a definite answer, but I don't really think it matters as long as your giving the plant everything it needs.

I would put them outside earlier, but it depends on where you are, I was wondering this as well, thinking maybe 2 1/2 feet wide 3 feet deep don't really know though

2-3 feet is good, the size of your holes really depends on how much soil your using per plant...

i was also wondering thi. also what would happen if say you put a 4 inch plant into a huge 8 gallon pot, how much if at all would it affect the plant?

well think about it logically the roots won't know how big the pot is unless they reach the edge

i like to dig down 4 feet or till i hit clay where i live i just dug 8 holes today then i go around the top edge and knock all the top soil in then i use my own mix
