the days getting longer would help, can you not set them somewhere off the porch where they can get full sun instead of reaching for light off of it?

the plastic must be blocking the sunlight. if you ever have any kind of wind you will be doomed. they should have leaves that size and be about 2 inches high max. these people know what they are talking about trust me, figure out something different.

Are they just getting light say when the sun sets? As in the houes is blocking the sunrise? Maybe you could put them along the other edge of the house, or try putting them in the corner.

I would put em up on yor roof or somethin' so they get a little more light, because it looks like theyre not gettin the right amount of light. also they tend to like morning sun light better than afternoon.

What direction do the monkey's face when they are on the porch? If they face north northwest or northeast you don't have a good porch. Northwest could be fine during the main part of the summer, but in the fall it will be shady alot.

PROBLEM IS:

you are taking the plants in at night...and not putting them outside till late morning....

early morning is the most important light for plants and they arent getting any
