Default Starting and sprouting seeds outdoors.100% outdoor survivial of the fitest

Who has done a grow 100% outdoors start to finish. How was it done? I ask this because I've tried and failed a few times. I am able to start them inside and finish them outside but seems like every time i try to do the full course outdoors the seedlings never make it. I am not able to start indoors this year so what I'm looking for are people willing to share there proven methods, stealth is preferred, maybe some new ideas will form along the way but i will start with the ideas I have for now.

    1. Compact seedling plots planted over prepared and back-filled holes

basically this idea is to dig and prepare a hole like you would for regular outdoor but to plant 15-25 seeds and weed out the weakest (I am using bag-weed-seed) leaving 2-4 seedlings for probability of females when sex is determined of the remaining remove all males and weak females. My year goal weight is 1-4 pounds 1lbs= 16oz or 453.5g

I average an ounce or 2 per plant outdoor so to hit the 1lb mark I would need to have approx 10 successful plants. I grow guerrilla style no big plots with rows and rows just a couple here and there so 10-40 mini plots would be a lot to manage and consider you need to plant 3x what you want to harvest to meet your goal outdoor, because of loss to animals and weather bugs mold other unimaginable terrors.

this way doesn't seem manageable with the acreage I'm working with about 6 acres of woods also, I wouldn't be able to get an early start which is also a concern because I live in Michigan.

    2. Pop bottle green house starters

would allow me to start sooner there easy to conceal but larger quantity's will be harder more prep work. Seedlings could outgrow the pop bottle quickly still have to prepare just as many holes.

    3. Cold frame.

mini green house, benefit of early start but harder to hide more seedlings could be done in one spot.

These are my current ideas I have not yet tested them. If you have any experience with similar situations please share what you know.

Are you able to set up a small grow indoors? Because If you bought a couple seeds online or even grew a female outdoor then cloned her and kept her indoor your operation would go a lot smoother.

Get some fluorescents and grow out a feminized seed made for outdoor growing

let it get nice and big and then take about 20 clones from it. Wait a week to ten dad for then to root (2 weeks in some strains)

then you take all your clones out to where you want to plant them and keep it going. If a couple get eaten or smashed early I. Growth just take some more clones and boom 2 weeks later they're right back where ya started

I would not have started this thread if i was able to do those things. I am capable of doing what you suggested but my situation does not pemit.

if you cant start em indoor, you need to plan it so when you drop the seed in the ground (I would still try to make em sprout indoors) your in early spring with no night frost left ..

make sure to plant em a place where they will receive atleast 5+ hours of direct Sun light, and make sure the soil you plant em in is with in the right PH (buy a cheap PH test kit)

if your soil is to acid in your woods you might have to spread some Lime and start em out in some soil of your own (dig a hole 1x1x1 ft and plant the seedling/seed in the soil you filld it with)

outdoor in the ground is easy if you plan it right and can plant em in a place where they get a lot of Sun

not uncommon to get +1 pound a plant, with the right genetic, sun/summer, and fertilizer

    ps.
if you worry about thieves and Cops aso. you could tie em down, make em look every thing els then weed, I even seen People hang Red painted pingpong balls on em to make em look like tomato plants from a distance ..
Take my advice !! ... I dont use it anyway ...

Start your plants in a cold frame, then move them after you have started plants in pots? You aren't guaranteed 100% indoors where temps and humidity can be controlled. For example; I just started 4 BF's blue cheese in the exact same seedling tray, 3/4 sprouted under the exact same situations. All on a heating mat, same amount of water and light; 3 sprouted and the other one never even cracked. You need two things winter lacks to start plants: Heat and sunlight; the two things that are lacking this early in the season. If you can manage to supply heat and light to your plants, you may have a chance. Honestly, you don't have a closet to hook up a heating mat and a few CFL's? I'm sure it can be done, but it seems like you're going to have to rely on a lot of timing. Good luck.

I'm trying to attempt this for a few reasons. One of the reasons is because I know its hard to do, I like to challenge myself as a grower. Another is genetics, kind of like a Darwin based breeding program the plants that survive a climate pass genes that survived for a reason after a few years the genes will adjust to the climate and probability of success will increase. Ive done outdoor in smart pots before the roots grew threw the bag into the ground and they were 5ft in early September when i put them in ground never got to havest those two beauties deer tore them down soon after they started budding. I have no indoor available im not living alone dont like the risk involved, sucks though because of the non feminized bagseed ill be using maybe ill use my tax money to get my med card finally and I can just pick up some clones.

but im not sure if pounder plants are too common in guerrilla style but maybe i could try to not hide my plants so well that the sun cant see them. honestly the year i managed to harvest the i got an ounce and a half off of 3 plants and one plant was only a foot and a half tall and the tallest was 4ft or so. I shocked them indoors to show sex and never got them to revert ack to veg before i put them out in may so they were in a halfway between state that i think stunted them severely.

That's part of the issue in answering your question, wtf state are you in? Your odds of success with this method in Florida are much better than your odds of making it work in Wisconsin.

Indeed you do! I totally read past that somehow. I wish you the best, and hopefully someone can furnish you with an outdoor solution that works in spite of us naysayers. haha

I think that black pot above ground would help keep the soil temp up I could also insulate the pot from the ground so that the heat gained does not conduct into the cold ground. Then transfer them into the ground when soil temps pick up in early june
