the pro version just gives you up to date pictures from the satalite. The free one are outdated pics. You could find a good spot using the free one then go there and find that they built a shopping mall there..

the free version give you pics from 2006. Just depends on where you are as to what the resolution is. If you are in a bad area, you can't see shit up close.

google earth is a good tool for spotting out potentials, but the only good way is to check out each potential spot out in person. and if your looking in a place where a mall can go up within a year of the outdated photos they provide on the free version, ya better look harder. oh, and google's photos aren't all that outdated. some areas (my area) is updated to last summer/fall 2007
