You are wrong -- great weed can be had for very little. Look into Supersoil -- the recipie is in the orgnics section. Grow under flourescents with a Scrog. The biggest potential cost is a fan if you are growing in a room with poor circulation.
Buying materials for maybe 2-3 plants. If I was to go to home depot, lowes or even walmart, what type of potting soil, plant feed, etc. and being on the cheap side, should I buy, to at least get good plants. Actually my out door soil is good, so maybe an additive, maybe peat moss? My budget is low and I know I won't grow any Knock down weed with a low budget. I would think a good feed and vitamins are important. Advice 0n this is greatly important and appreciated. It's been a long time since I've grown plants, Late 70's, and man has it changed, I mean greatly changed. Thanks, jjfw![]()

For cheap and easy I would start with MG organic choice. Add epsom salts, bone meal, and perlite.
ur outdoor will be great given you start with a healthy clone or teen...I would try to go organic but mg prouducts work well threw veg imo.kelloggs soil,or organic potting soils period will make ur plants happy. im not a pro this is just my opinion from experiance and watching others grow.so try some cheap stuff from home depot or walmart etc. ull be surprised, but im sure thers plenty people who will disagree with me on that.so again this is my opinion....... good luck!
What Cindy said. Please remember it is a weed and it will grow without much trouble. As a new grower you can expect results without alot of fanfare.
Plant 'em, water 'em and watch 'em grow. If they lack something nutrient wise, they are not afraid to tell you.
home depot has kelloggs garden soil ($8 for 3 cu ft) and it has loads of goodies but dont use it in pots because it has very poor drainage. if youll be planting in the ground it will work great. my garden beds are half clay half kelloggs and after a year it turns to black sand, very nice. anyway, i was at HD the other day and picked up a new fert kelloggs makes. its granular time release, but its all organic and seems VERY comparable to the supersoil shot pack tga came out with. 4-6-4 with loads of beneficials, just add worm castings. so you could make a concentrated supersoil versoin or just mix some in at planting time. it also says you can put 1/2 cup in a gal of water to make a tea, then strain the junk and add to your compost to speed up decomposition or toss onto topsoil.

Out back with the plants and stuff they have Kellogg soil. 3 CF for like 8 dollars. You might want to do kellog in a raised bed, though. Or mix it with a bunch of pearlite.
A cactus/palm mix is another good choice, as they have good drainage. Cactus mix is like 7/1.5CF?

craigslist is your friend. I found 25LB bags of rabbit poo (The highest nitrogen out of any poo) for $5 a piece. Also you can find people selling top quality soil by the truckload for dirt cheap (no pun intended)
