Hey guys, I've been using coffee filters to filter my tap water. Is this a good method or should I let the water sit for a few hours also![]()
I take my water directly from the tap and put into my soil. Never had a problem.
I use tap water, pH adjust it then water the girls. If you have time let it sit out and tap the bucket after a day to release the bubbles. Or put it in a bucket with an airstone at the bottom to get the chlorine out although it won't hurt your plants to use it straight from the tap.
For soil I think you can use it straight, for hydro you should let it sit in open jug or bucket for 24hrs to evaporate the chlorine.

Only reason I asked is b/c when I don't filter it looks like salt deposits on top of my soil. Not too worried just curious
A coffee filter isn't going to take anything out of your water. I use tap water and let it sit over night in an open container. For outdoor plants I'd water straight from the hose.
check the ppm of your water and see how hard it is. might be deposits. letting it sit for a day or so before use works good for getting the chlorine out of it though
in outdoor soil potted plants, i've used straight tap with no ill effects but I almost
always let the tap water sit in a open container for 24
hours before using to get rid of any excess chlorine
I'm here to fuck with your head
sitting overnight works for sure I, when using hydro, go straight from tap to tank, add nutes one at a time than adjust the ph before I cycle the pump
