I tried cloning outdoors a couple years back. Too hot, they wilted bad.
I had success cloning with under $20 with coco coir, clonex solution, and a packet of rooting gel sample that the shop owner gave me in trade for some girl scout cookies. (The cookies, not the weed.)
You'll also need to spend about $7 at homedepot on a light bulb, plug socket, and extension cord. Hook that shits up to a cardboard box and you're good go. I got roots in 17 days. I will never say that my cloning technique is the best, but its cheap, easy, and it works.
If another poster does have outdoor cloning methods, I'd love to learn something new.
