yep, them's Blurry Bugs. they will hatch into out of focus insects that optometrists use to chew the little line into Bi-Focals.
seriously theres several critters that lay eggs like that, including ladybugs. ill need a much better pic to tell you anything.

they aint dead unless you squished em. keep that leaf in a jar till they hatch and release the little furry caterpillars in your garden.
