you think it would be alright to dig a hole in the ground and fill it with that mix??? cuz from what I've read on that its good for poor drainage areas, which is how the surrounding soil is.
well theres already a slight drainage problem in my grow area so i think if its airy it would help out so i don't moisture problems
Yea Promix is all Peat Moss, it's technically hydro growing as opposed to soil mixes which are more dense. Promix when in the bales is like dust. I coughed up a lung mixing up the soil before I decided to hose down the Promix in a separate container and then add the FFOF. I'd mulch because the peat moss is going to get leached by the surrounding soil if you are digging a hole to grow in. Or you can add worm castings or something more dense and the promix will thin out what ever it is you decide to use. Are you guerrilla growing or would this be in close proximity to a garden hose? If your doing it in your yard then use the 50/50 mix with some extra perlite and keep an eye on it until it gets some what dry and then you can determine how often you'd need to water it. I just planted mine in 5gal nursery pots and its taking them about 3-5 days to dry out.

I'm doing sort of a half guerrilla grow cuz technically its not my property, but the forest is pretty much in my backyard, I found a good clearing about 50 yards into the forest, so its not that far of a walk to bring water. I'm going to get the promix and the rest of my ffof on monday since the hydro shop is closed today, I might have to order the promix cuz i don't know if they will have it.
you should be good then since you have easy access. i personally would still mulch but if its almost in your backyard, you can get away without it. 50/50 will work great. i would also add dolomite lime to the mix. 1 cup per cubic foot will buffer the soil and prevent any ph problems.
yea I already bought the lime, I have a history of ph problems hahaha. just checked on my plants today after putting up a 2 foot fence around them, and something ate the bottom 2 nodes, and found little tiny ants in the soil of one of the pots.... might be a looooong season...![]()
