nice plants, glad to see more NE people on here. This is my last yr outdoors, I'm sick of shitty weather, bugs, short season and well everything. I got a late start,my girls are only 2 weeks old and I already lost one(I think) to bugs-probably a slug- she was fine last night and a stick with a partial leaf this morning :-/

Dont give up on her dude! Like everyone else says they are very resilient plants!

New England is a rough place to grow outdoors in the woods. Good luck with your grow.

Hey man, you have any ant problems yet? I have mine growing in a wooded area as well. Got every kind of bug imaginable attacking. Replanted and had ants in a bunch. Gonna try some cinnamon. Rains coming gonna have to spray everything again!

when i re-potted i noticed a lot of ants at the bottom of the pot. I was under the impression they do no damage to the plant, they just use the soil for tunnels and make a home.

ive seen, White fly's..all kinds of spiders..beetles..mites..

My solution has been Neem Oil..could be worse..i rather have insects then a deer munch half the plant in one bite lol

for deer, rabbits and other larger things I used chicken wire and made a "basket" about 1-1.5ft high by about the dia. of a 5gal bucket and staked it over the plants. Once they fill it I'll pull it off and it should be big enough at that point to not worry about, now that I think about it a layer of screen or mosquito net would probably keep out most bugs without blocking to much light...damn hindsight...

As far as Neem goes,I used it with great success last yr. I actually sprayed my plants last night with it...only to find the one eaten...what insects does neem not effect? I'm still leaning towards slugs cause all the stems/veins are there with just the leafy part eaten...

I've had some deer nibble. Have a lot of them around here. Someone suggested hair. I've been recently using something I bought at HTG not much of a problem. But those white flies are all over the place. Don't Bug Me, Neem oil don't seem to get them. I dont really see them ON my plants, but they are hovering around all over the place. Not sure what to make of them. Theres like a ball of them that fly around my site.

yeah i found my first male, and 2 white hairs coming out of a pistol on another. So one confirmed male and one confirmed female. The male was super hard to spot, there were little pin head sized balls just begining to form at the highest node, i still haven't chopped yet because...yeah..you know its hard to kill something so beautiful.
