GDP and Herojuana OG finishing up, purple trichome
Been reading this and other sites over the years for growing info and decided to sign up and join in the discussion. I have a few GDP plants and a few Herojuana OG's that are finishing up outdoors right now (southern california, moving from indoors to out means I can flower all year 'round with our weather) and they're doing pretty well. About 4 feet or so each, heavily bushed from lst'ing. The GDP's just keep flowering, I think it's a residual effect of the overdrive I stopped feeding them a week or so ago; that stuff really does kick some extra life into them. Also, I'd been feeding them superthrive into flowering and didn't realize it has such an effect on flowering delaying, but it does, so they're on something like probably week 13 or 14 now. I've been checking the trichomes with a scope for the past several weeks, and the gdp's are a mix of clear and cloudy, with just a few nugs showing some nice amber patches now. The nugs have some nice subtle purpling hues on the buds but that's not, not a lot for it's namesake but then again gdp doesn't always get heavily purpled. The herojuana, however, has all but turned completely violet, a very dark purple all over the leaves and nugs that came on several weeks into flowering, i'm thinking due to their nighttime temperatures (45-55 many nights). It's a very beautiful plant and has tons of resin production, itself a blend of clear and cloudy also but I haven't noticed any amber on it yet. Both are on just over one week of flush right now, I plan to do about one more week or so depending on how things look. What I found especially interesting yesterday, however, is looking at a nug I pulled off of one of the gdp's to look at closer and then dry and test, was one trichome. As I mentioned most are clear or cloudy, with just a few ambers, but I found one big, beautiful trichome that was a vibrant purple. Personally, I've never seen that before nor heard of it, certainly it's possibly though its happened as, it did for me. anyway I thought that was pretty awesome and would have expected that from the herojuana given it's dark purpling, but I guess the gdp felt like expressing it's purple in a different way. As they finish up I'll throw some more info up and maybe some pictures if anyone's interested. It's a personal, medicinal grow for personal consumption, and i've always enjoyed it and sharing as possible.
