Molasses Do or Dont

First of all i like to thank all who responded to my last post with your help and advice on how to get rid of the caterpillars , I seem to have them licked :hump:..

I have a purple urkle about 3.5 ft tall and well into the bloom stage as you will see from the photo and have been reading about added some sweet flavor by using molasses , i must note that the plant will be most likely ready to harvest in about three weeks or so and i already stop using all nutes but have read some post that using molasses you dont have to flush , well i guess the question is should i

I must note that this is my first grow and havent smoked weed since i was 16 and am 50 now but with age comes problems sleeping at nite and when my wife had breast cancer i got her some purp urk :joint: and it helped with chemo and to relax her in evening and of course me too .. So i said why not but now that i am so close to harvest i dont want to ruin or loose the plant ..

Molasses is something to be used throughout soil grows, it feed the microbes which in turn feed your plants N, P, K etc. However, too much of a good thing will cause problems..as I just learned. I figured I could never OD an in-ground 8 footer...so I put 1/2 cup of store bought into a gallon of water. It's also a chelating agent, which can cause temporary N lockout. It took me 2 weeks to correct it. Now I use no more than 2 Tbs./gallon every other watering. Also, looks like you have bit more than 3 weeks left.

Good luck!

I use molasses right up to chop. That's been flowering for 60 days or so?. The pistils are still upright and producing oils, usually by now they are changing colors and receding. I've never grown that strain, so perhaps someone that has could assist you better on harvest timing.

There seems to be more pixels coming out the original ones are turning amber or brown like hairs but if I open the bud up it is very green inside ,maybe I will add some molasses at a tbl spoon to a gallon or two once a week , thanks bro

I just chopped my Purp URKLE this morning . When it's done she will let you know almost all the hairs will be orange and start to curl back in . Mine didn't really purple up but neither did my purple kush I chopped a couple days ago . My purple kush is now showing purple spots while drying, maybe it'll comeut in the cure ? You can always buy a 60-100x microscope from radio shack($12) and harvest at about 50/50 milky and amber thrics since I you are looking for the medical benifits . Harvesting a little later than I did will probably give it more time to purple up too ...just my 2 cents hope this helped some how cause I'm really baked rite now lol

About 8 weeks but climate, direct hours of sunlight, when you planted can all play a factor as to when shell be ready.. but you might want to look for the calyxes to swell and when almost all your pistils are Orange and curling back into the bud its dne . Ppl make it more difficult than it really is. get a microscope if you dnt think you can go off appearance of the bud alone ...

I use it the last month of flowering, mainly to feed microbes, add some flavor to the taste, and add some additional micro nutrients i.e. Mg.........

Thanks for all the info guys really appreciate it , well i went to visit my daughter and son in-law and it was really depressing , he has 5 sativa strain plants and he also was having problems eith his plants and is really having a hard time keeping up , he sprayed with a safer brand product and its smells horrible , he sprayed twice and has been flushing for two weeks now and the plants have the smell still and doesnt seem to go away and of course some caterpillers still the buds are ready but stink like the spray and dont have the skunky weed smell my does , fellows this really has him pissed because he is looking at his stash till next year and it is about 6 to 8 ounces at least , my question is if he cuts it and hangs to dry will that help or should he continue to flush , i believe he may loose it all
