Default South african grower
Wasup dudes.
Im from south africa and i got some seeds from a friend,i used to lurk here till my plant died.got 4 more seeds and i want to do it right this time..
I made this thread because i would rather make my decisions from users opinions and methods than walkthroughs..

here are a few of my questions:

1. How deep and how far apart must i plant my seeds?

2.How often must I water the seeds and with how much water(in ml)?
2.1 will adding a pinch of salt to approx. A litre of water help the plant absorb water using osmosis?
2.2 will rain water and lime make a difference?

3.The town I live in has an average temperature of 17 degrees celsius in the mornings and 30 in the afternoon. How can I use this to my advantage?

4.How much sun should I let them have?

5.How big should the flowering pot i plant em in be?

thats all for now..all posts will b appreciated

hello and welcome.

i'd plant them at least 3 - 4 feet apart.
water when the soil is dry. usually every 4 days or so. i've never added salt or lime.
you can build a greenhouse to help raise temps.
they need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. the more the better.
pots should be 3 - 6 gallons.

hope this helps.

Love that durbin poison. 100% sativa straight from south africa. makes my mouth water. Welcome to the show, highdrow. Glad to have you on board. Fdd got you, but missed one thing. Seeds should be planted twice as deep as their width. For example a 3 mm seed should be planted 6 mm deep. Seeds do not have much food stored to break hard soil any further than that. Any deeper will slow and may stunt growth. Ed Rosenthal says texture is the key to good soil. Cannabis needs soil that drains well and not retain soggy spots. Also must have excellent aeration. The plant will acclimate to the rest. Good luck brother.

Are you planting outside or inside? You can use the fish tank, not as a greenhouse, but a temporary incubator for young and susceptible plants. No glass, use a plastic tarp that allows plenty of light and diffuses it. Make sure there is some ventilation, you can do this by puncturing holes if you want. The tank will protect the seedlings from the elements until they are old enough to take care of themselves. This can only be done for outside growing. For inside, you will need a better light. For 4 plants or less, I suggest a 400 watt Metal Halide or 400 watt High Pressure Sodium, my preference is the halide. Check what voltage your house runs on. The United States uses 120 volt grids, most of Europe uses 240 volts. Doesn't matter, the same electricity is used, but it will change what tap you get on your light. For example the 220-240V listed on your light means it has two taps, one for 220 volts, the other for 240 volts. Make sure to connect the right tap to your house's grid requirement or it will not work. I trashed two 400 metal halide complete lights (ballast, fixture, kept the bulb) because I didn't realize it was a multi-tap ballast with the wrong voltage assigned. Now I only have one complete light! That was a long time ago. I grow outdoors now, but have learned much from my poor attempts at indoor growing. Good luck, and update us on what you plan on doing!
