Default 2011 First Ever Outdoor Grow

Hey guys, like it says in my title this is my much anticipated first grow. I just ordered the seeds and couldn't be more excited, I live in california and ordered them from attitude so I don't really know how long it's going to take.
For starters, I'm going to be trying to grow as close to organic as I can with a soil containing only potting soil, chicken manure, bone meal, perlite and gypsum. I mixed my soil two days ago and I'm letting it set now.

The seeds I on my order are all from Attitude seed bank and are as follows:
-Lowryder Easy Ryder (AKA Lowryder #2 x AK47) fem 5 pack
-Pick & Mix seeds . Barney's Farm Red Dragon Feminized
-Pick and Mix Dutch Passion Auto Blueberry Feminized
-Pick and Mix Dutch Passion Dolce Vita Feminized seeds
-Pick & Mix seeds . Green House seeds Super Lemon Haze Feminized
-Pick and Mix SAGARMATHA seeds Double Diesel Ryder Feminized
-Pick and Mix Big Buddha seeds Automatic Feminized
    -UFO#2 G13 Labs Gigabud Feminized
-UFO#1 G13 Labs Purple Haze Feminized
-UFO#3 G13 Labs Super Skunk Feminized
-UFO#4 Dinafem seeds California Hash Plant

For my grow, I'm going to plant the autos (double diesel, blue berry and ak 47) in 3 gallon containers with this soil mix as soon as the seeds come in the mail and are germinated. The autos will be outdoor in my backyard and will be done probably around beginning mid July? Will the autos have enough room in 3 gallon containers or should i step up my game and get some bigger buckets?

Around June I plan on starting all of my photoperiod plants because I can't let them veg into trees all summer (not enough space). So right around the time my plants are just growing bigger some will be ready for harvest.

I know I'm a noob, I'm probably overlooking some huge gap in the growing process may be making a fatal mistake. Any tips or hints as to what I could do better would be greatly appreciated. I plan on updating this thread with lots of pics so we'll see how this plays out

Also I spent $180 on seeds, I really hope I'm getting some good genetics... I really wanted to get some TGA seeds but they don't have any fem seeds.

I have no experience with Autos, but it couldn't hurt to bump 'em up to 5 gallon pots. I'm a big believes that large pots/holes make for large happy plants. But being an auto, who knows...I do know that roots can spread out pretty fast, but once again, no experience with autos. I have my first auto going right now...Just started my outdoor thread today, pop on by if you have the time

Anyway, looks like a ncie lineup. I'm in Cali too and when I ordered from the 'tude for the march promo, it took about 20 days...But they made it here just fine, and thats what i'm growing now for the most part. As for good genetics...I personally think females from regular seeds make for the most stable females, as some femmed seeds have that hermaphrodite trait. I too want TGA genetics, and plan to order some with my next Attitude order. Good luck with your grow!

Hey dude . 3 gallon is good for autos. I f I could make a suggestion, I would only do afew plants since it is your first grow. You can run into some problems and your 180$ investment could be lost. Just a thought. I live on the cen. coast of Cal. and got my last Attitude oder in a week . I guess it depends how busy they are. Good luck, jethead

No shit, a week? I gotta stop orderig during the promos, haha, but really an Auto's root won't grow more than 3 gallons? Crazy, I have one in a 2.5 gallon pot right now, but I was gonna give it more room when it gets bigger...you telling me it wouldn't benefit from more soil though? Really very little experience with autos, grew one last year but it was in the ground.

Thanks for the advice jethead. I'm doing my first grow with a friend/partner and we're dividing up the harvest. I supply the plants, soil and growing techniques while he supplies the area to grow in haha. I'm planning on putting a few photoperiods at my house, but nothing too much. Thanks for the advice too, I bought 3 gallon buckets yesterday so I'm happy I don't have to return them

My order from Attitude took about 45 days. Then again, it was during Christmas time. I'd suggest a little more than 3 gallons for autos though. You can never give them too large of a pot!
