Most of my outdoor plants are showing signs of preflowers though I can't yet see any of the indicators that I have seen pics of here.

I can clearly see the pistils? The long straight sections that grow, though no tiny hairs or balls of any type, even when magnified.

I've attached some pics, she a little unusuall in shape but I'm restricted by area so I should be able to get at least two nice colas growing from either end of the plant.

I have recently Fimmed her and I can turn the plant round 180 degrees now and then to direct both ends of the plant to reach for the stars!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Those are not pre-flowers...i'm not exactly sure *what* they are...i'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along and clarify, but my plants have had those since the first set of leaves. You won't see any type of sex on the plant until a week or two after you change your lighting cycle

What kind of soil are you using? How long have they been growing for? Are you using or planning to use ferts?

The soil is good organic potting mix with 10% perlite, bit of cow poo, works nicely. I've been using Miracle grow fert it really improves the overall plant.

If you have a read of this forum it has lead me to think I can sex earlier without inducing it. Is this forum perhaps wrong?

Ick!! Dont use miracle grow if you dont have to. It is very chemically. If you have to use it, use the miracle grow for tomatoes. You are going to need to flush the plant very well before you smoke any.

I get these little "leaves" (I call them leaves cuz Im not sure what else to call them) on my plants. But I wait until the plants are further into bloom before I sex them. I have to agree, you're in the waiting game.

I am not sure if you can actually sex them before bloom. I would think that you would have to know more about botany than I do to accomplish that. Can someone more knowledgeable look at that site and let us know whats up??

Those spiky long things that grow up from near stem nodes are called stipules. These are the same on male and female plants.

As the link indicates, it is possible to identify sex by looking at pre flowers in some plants (but not all); in my experience lots of plants never develop easily distinguishable pre flowers. In order to be 100% certain of sex I rely on inducing flowering thru 12/12.
This way, I am never wrong….

The Miracle grow does seem very stromg in chemicals though if I stop using it at the end of the Vege stage and move towards a blooming fert from then on, I'm hoping I'll have a fairly natural taste.

I'm in Australia and I can't find the same blooming ferts that you guys have in the states, any Aussies in here have any sugestions for a good blooming fert that doesn't leave the buds tasting like Ajax?

I'll post some more pics soon, I'm going to intiate an outdoor 12/12 cycle today! Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will know for sure.
