Best thing for pest and animal control?...

ok im on a really tight budget and need to know the best thing for pest and animal control. I need to be able to get it at like walmart or home depot. Do moth balls keep almost everything away including deer?

and even though it doesnt say it keeps deer away would the smell ward them off?

For animal control just piss around the plants approx 1-2 ft away from stalk, the animals will smell it and know HUMANS ARE AROUND RUN. It's a natural instinct, it's also how animals mark there boundaries. But remember this must be done after every rain.
