outdoor train wreck strait to soil

just yesturday i planted 4 trainwreck seeds but did not germ them first. was this a mistake? and i was woundering i have a pond in my backyard that i was going to plant them near when its time to transplant is this a good idea or should i just put them in bigass 5+ gallon pots and keep them by the house so i can watch them daily?

They will take longer to sprout if you don't germinate them first. Could take up to a week to pop up instead of a few days using the germination method. I would recomend keeping them in doors for first few weeks as alot of seedlings have trouble surviving outdoors with the plethora of different variables to harm your plant. GL

ya - a bug could come by and clear-cut your garden overnight.. they need protection when they are really tiny..

i have a high wattage bulb that puts off a god amount of heat should i put my trainwreck under it untill they sprout cause i deffinatly want to grow it outdoors this spring through fall
