cmon dude its not rocket science,
water whenever the soils properly dried out, a smaller container will need watering more often than a big 1.

I just wanted to add some sativas dont have to flower for 12 weeks, for those of us not in topical areas an growing outdoor. There are faster varites( like pure power plant, an early durbans ect).

Good sativa highs are so dam good, good luck.

Ok so everyone agrees that we can shorten a height of a plant by using small pots.

Now my question is the duration. If normal growing of sativas take 6-8 months, how many months will it take to harvest sativas on a 1 gal pot in a tropical climate?

What I would want to achieve is planting outdoors and harvesting on a much earlier time frame.

I noticed that in indoor growing, the result would be a short plant with huge buds planted on a large pot. If this is done outdoors in a small pot will I be able to harvest on a faster time... Like 3 months instead of 6?

This is just an experiment and would like to know if some growers out there have done the same thing.

Smaller pot will create root issues and make the plant not grow to its full potential. Also you can force flower after a couple weeks by covering the plant with some plastic thus blocking the sun.
Shit did I say that? Well fuck man

Great! So that means even in outdoors we can force plants to flower? I'll post some pictures when my plants start to flower. As of now they are 3 weeks old.

    Thanks for the info!

Flowering time isnt going to shorten just because you have a smaller pot, the growth of the plant will just be stunted. If your plant takes 8 weeks to flower than it isnt going to be 7 weeks if you bump from a 5 gallon to a 3 gallon. It just wont get as big, wont yield as much and wont be as potent due to stressing. As far as forcing budding goes, you need to aim for a 12/12 light cycle so if your area is at 16/8 then you need to provide your plants an extra 4 hours of dark every single day. That means a bag or tub over every single plant every single day and the removing it the next morning. That is a hassle and a half and would be nearly impossible if your guerrilla growing. I'm not trying to bash any dreams but I say unless your aiming for smallness due to stealth just let your plant grow to the max, wait the time and reap the benefits.

If that plant can grow healthy buds on a 1/2 liter pot, what more on a 1 gal pot?

I just transplanted my plant on a similar pot size and hope to achieve the same results.

hey bro...good thread.....im attemtpting a small plant grow as well. I have a femmed autoflowering short rider. thats my fail safe for may. ne ways im cutting first and 2nd fan leaves on seedlings to contsrict the amount of solar power they get from said leaves. hence less power less growth. im also topping and femming too and will ultimately lst if and when they reach a foot tall. im straight in the ground too no lil buckets for me. I know enuff that no matter what kind of plant u want to grow it needs a happy root system. personally id go with a 2 gallon pot. there is a thread some where here on riu about bonsai pot.....its awesome......
How the fuck do I use the god damn signature option?
