Default my 3 plants in extreme heat! LOL

Hey Thought I would post some pics of my 1st ever attempt at growing outdoors.

The big one is lowryder auto, the two babies are nirvana snow white.

    Now heres the problems I have;

    1. It is very hot outside right now, around 30-35c during afternoons.

    2. Since sprouting (18 days ago) they have been subject only to around 12/12 schedule as where I am just now it pretty much stays like this all year round, so they havent or wont get much chance to veg I assume?

Im assuming they will start showing sex soon and that will be that? Or am I totally mistaken and thinking like a typical indoor grower?

I dont expect much out of any of these plants, I know the conditions are far from perfect, its more of a test to get the handle of outdoor growing in these extreme conditions.

With regards to the heat they are doing great, no signs of any stress on the lowryder anyway, growing plush green.

    p.s 1st 3 pics r lowryder auto(18days) and last 2 or nirvana snowwhite (14 days)

Any advice or help would be great. its getting hotter by the day so im thinking of blowing some cold air at em soon using an ac went? sounds weird but it might work?

    Default hey

haha.. good luck. Instead of venting cool air maybe look for a spot thats slightly shaded, higher in altitude, or close to the ocean, as the tempature stays more moderate.. also they are gonna be thirsty..

hey sorry noob question but from that I take they dont need to be under direct sunlight? I can put them in the shade and they shall still get more than enough light?

Waiting for your reply so I can quickly go move them out the sun, or not lol

At least part shade. I live over the hill from seattles finest. our temps get a little warmer in the summer. lol you can take direct sun away without loosing light.

I am pretty sure they certainly dont need to be in direct sunlight. 35C would mean its about 40+ in the sun. Way too hot. I melted a few small plants this way. Be careful too when adding nutes. Mediums dry out quick and then concentrate increases which will burn them further. I melted a few plants on a 41C day in Australia in direct sunlight so i am sure they were actually subjected to 50+C. I think they still get light even in the shade. My outside plant sits in the shade prob 70% of the day and it never looked so healthy.

Direct sunlight ovbiously helps, but they will definatly grow in somewhat shaded areas.. Like in the woods for example. Also a thought, If theres any particularly windy area maybe try that..

Thanks for the replies, Iv now put them in the shade, theres a nice little breeze going on where iv put them and they still get a good few hours of direct light nearer the end of the day.

Just a quick update with pics.

    The lowryder is a lady!!!

its showing quite a few pistils now as you can see.

I cant believe this is happening, its now like almost 37-40c. thats toooooo hot i thought?

Il admit that the plants not in the best of states but considering i was expecting it to shrivle up and die before it even flowered in this heat, i am very very impressed.

Its getting hotter by the day so i just hope it will be ok untill it finnishes

    what do all think?

i am conducting my own experiment as well i have 6 plants (seeds from a stash came from natural grow by nature) growing outdoors 1 that i just moved to hydro, 3 outdoors with a lot of light with shade, and 2 from direct sunlight. about 33c, before i decided which plant goes where i keep noticing the plant i put in direct sunlight grows faster, with healthier stems, bigger leafs than those from a shade which sprouted 1st. what i am doing now is i put them in direct sunlight every other day when im not watering them, the night before that i keep em well conditioned putting just organic ferts...fresh fish blood, (ramgro) guano, seaweed, fish emulsion mix, placed cracked eggshells on top of the soil to keep em moist. and keep it out the whole day to get used to harsh environments, the following day i keep em well condition again in a nice shady spot with right sufficeint light from the sun. im doing these to keep me well informed and ready when i get the seeds i ordered from bank...hopefully it would do the same thing, 3 seeds started to germinate 2 days ago just sittin on a soil outdorrs covered with moss (watering it regularly to keep em moist) i think by doing these im helping the plant to thrive in harsh weather.
