I planted sometime during the summer, i know thats not the correct time. First question is, when is the right time?. BUt more importantly, i think my small plant is ready to be harvested. I know its kinda late, but the crystals are milky and the crystals on the tops are turning slightly amber color, jsut a little. From what i read its time to chop, but how much? My plant is not even 1 foot tall but the buds are small and smell pretty yummy. After cutting i hang them upside down in the dark for two weeks right?

Think about when you plant your garden. What is the right time for that. About the right time for your other crop too.

Sounds like its about right for harvest time.

I find it easier in the longrun to manicure before hanging to dry.

Cut, manicure, hang your plants in a cool, dark place until totally crispy and smokable in a joint-- usually 10 days. Optimum conditions are 68-74 degrees F.

is there anyway to shorten the 10 day drying period?

get one of those things that are in the little white packets that come in beef jerky containers that absorb the oxygen...put these in a bag with the weed and it should work a lot faster. this is the only thing i can think of besides making it extremly dry, like lower than 10% humidity

in Cervantes book, he mentions a fellow using a food dehydrator, and says it doesn't have a negative effect on the bud. I am going to at least, try it. Where I'm at you can buy one for about $40.00. I think its worth it, and the other things he has said turned out to be accurate.

Do a controlled test and let us know what U find out.

so there is no negative effect on the bud if i were to use a food dehydrator?

I would think it would be damaged slightly by the heat but if would be dicernalbe or not is the question. If you only lost like 10% content you probably wouldnt be able to tell.

But like I said try it out and let us know.

Just do a few buds to last till the rest is properly dryed, then compare the 2.
