Will someone please elaborate. my plants just started to flower and i just want to not fuck up. i would sacrafice a lil quality for a lil reasurance im not going to screw up the whole yield. any pics of trichomes or whatever that is when there ready would help.

Milky white/amber. get a 30x microscope w/ light at radio shack for $15. Depending on your plant, most 8 to 9 weeks

Milky white is more of energetic buzz and amber will couch lock you. You have about 1-2 weeks in between these two phases. When the trichs on the leaves start to look oily brown it's time to inspect with the microscope. You must buy a micrscope to get it right. Plants may look ready to the naked eye, but with the microscope you'll discover they probably need about another week or two.

some pure sats flower for over 14weeks
id be watching the triches personally with a 30x loupe or bigger
i like amber triches,but also find cloudy to be beneficial
maybe wen its closer to harvest u can snip a bud occasionally
sampling to determine where u want to harvest
smoking is the best test,but really only works for the next run of clones

If you are growing for medicinal purposes then you want as much milky as possible. Sometimes that means some of them turn amber while the clear ones are becoming milky. Sometimes it will all turn at once. How many weeks a plant takes to flower is based mostly on genetics. The size of the plant and its environment are also factors which can make the ripeness vary a week or two give or take.
