Default field trouble

hey guys. first time poster, first time grower, long time lurker on here. I am doing my first grow this year with a friend and have had pretty good results so far.

Let me first start off by saying when we originally decided to do this we figured 'okay, we get 4 or 500 dollars worth of clones, drop em somewhere and we'll be set come september'. Easy as that right? no. 70 clones is alot to look at, and once they were all sitting in front of us in his back yard we looked at eachother with kind of a 'holy shit' look in our eyes.

So we came up with the idea of using a large a large plastic crate (about 4x4 feet and 3-4 ft. deep) and planting about 40 of them in this, and slowly move them out and into fields. the rest we planted other places. Out of the 25-30 we planted outside of the crate, most of them got eaten or pulled out of the ground. So our only major problem has been that wherever we plant them they get pulled out of the ground and we find them laying beside our holes. any ideas? We've even done thing such as surround them in brush so animals would stay away from them to no avail.

So since we have had shit luck with putting them in fields we kept the majority of the rest in this crate. 3 months later, a little TLC, and we have a huge tangled sea of green. They are all doing awesome but I fear that this will result in a shitty yield. They are in their first week or flowering and looking nice and healthy.

so my questions are:
- Will I lose much yield by leaving them in this crate?
- Why are they constantly being eating or pulled out of the ground when we put them in fields (regardless of what we do to prevent it)?
- Since they are beginning to flower should I switch from 20-20-20 to something else?

I will soon post pictures of this said crate. Likely within the next 20 minutes.
Any advice is greatly appreciate!

Steve ganj

Edit: I added 2 shitty pics to my gallery that I have from about a month or so ago. Since then they have grown to be about 1 foot about the top of the crate.

Maybe they just like corn better. I dont know maybe some other animal like a rabbit. Did they leave any evidence(pooh)? Build a homemade trap and catch it.

the soil is about a foot deep, and the crate is down to a tightly packed twenty plants. the ones we've taken out have bushed out immensely, but the ones in the crate are also growing pretty damn good. I am also somewhat afraid to fuck with the ones in the crate now. I think moving them would damage the root systems? possible less yield? ill head out to my location tomorrow and get a couple new pics. they've gotten huge!

hey man.. i was growing ten plants in my back yard.. untill 9 of em were eaten or ripped out just like yours.. the was racoon poo everywhere so we knew it wuz them basterds... we put a dog cage over the last one and shes on her way to budding... to stop the coon problem..... my dog caught a rabbit... so we through its carcus beside our plants as a warning for the racoons.. this has worked flawlessly... a bit smelly but its decomposing its nutrients intoo my babeys! shaveing your head and putting a bag of ur hair in the area works well too.
