you can also bring a fishing rod with you, but make sure there is a pond or lake near by, and claim that you were going fishing and stumbled upon them. but if someone sees you by your grow spot and you run they are obviously going to know its yours, but if you stand there two things might happen, they first might accuse you of growing, then they see your fishing pole and buy your story that you were just passing through to go fishing, or they will call the police, its a tough call you can never think a bust through well enough, a owner of a seed bank in toronto once told me that before he had a med card he was growing 25 strains in his appartment for a compassion centre, when he got busted they wouldnt let him call his lawyer and took his cell phone and put it out of reach and said not yet and that when you get busted a panic sets in much like when you get into a fight people will think it over and try to plan on how it will play out in their head, but when they actually get there adrenaline set in you become shaky and disorentated, every thing goes against your plan, most of all know your rights like the back of your hand.

I didnt read the whole thread so hopefully im not repeating what others have said.

I haven't done an outside grow in 20 years but when i did i had a routine that i never changed.

1 Take a different path to your garden every time.

2 Never go at the same time each visit.

3 Look like an adult citizen,this includes leaving the AC/DC t shirt at home & wearing regular blue jeans that older folks can relate to,remember if your wearing big ass baggy pants with an ear ring hanging from your face you stick out like a sore thumb to farmer pete just down the road.

4 Wear a saftey orange vest until your in the woods & out of sight from the road,then turn the vest inside out to the camo side,it's easiest to go unoticed while right in plain sight,on your way out dont forget to turn the vest back to the orange side,if your seen going in orange & comming out camo a farmer will take note.

5 Always take your dog with you,it's a good excuse to be in the woods to take your pooch for a walk,another plus is dog's get bored very quickly,they will lay at your feet while you tend your garden,they become tuned in to the enviroment,at the slightest sound they perk up,if somebody is out in the woods your dog will show you a sign that it's time to split.

6 Take a back pack with you,a compass,water,emergency blanket,brown jersey gloves,fire starting gear & emergency rations for you & the pooch,now you look like a hiker not a grower.

7 Leave all your tools in the woods,never take any tools back out with you & do not leave them near the garden,take them away from your garden & camo them out of the way of any possible foot traffic.

8 Never touch your tools bare handed,wear the gloves for everything at all times.

9 Leave no garbage behind,take it all with you including ciggarette butts,if you smoke while there pratice military style smoking by putting the butt in your pocket when your finished with it.

10 Pay close attention to the entire area when leaving,cop's think we are idiots & they dont cover their tracks worth shit,they think were too greedy & stoned to learn counter surveilance techniques,leave slowly taking your time ,observing the shit out of the area,this way when you come back,if you paid attention you stand a good chance of noticing a change in the surroundings,like fake hunting blinds,tree stands & especially foot tracks,dont forget to pay attention to the area along side the road,looking for heavy foot traffic in groups,cig butt's & tire tracks doing u turns in the area.

Take the same precautions before entering your garden,take a few minutes just outside the garden area,cop a seat,have a smoke ,pet your dog & look the area over,when your sure it's ok then enter the garden,once in the garden area look around some more before you touch shit,only after your 99% sure nothings outta place should you touch anything.

11 Fertilizer,always premix your nute's to match the water you are carrying but do not mix in the water,remember the water is for drinking,carry your pre mix nute concentrate in a 7-11 cup without a lid on it,keep the cup in your hand,this way if tango & cash leap out of a bush on your ass all you gotta do is dump the cup,if they ask why you dumped it you tell them why do you think asshole,you scared the fuck outta me leapin out of that damm bush.

12 Fuck the escape plan,your ass aint out running no damm dog that can smell a raoch inside a 30 gallon gas tank of a car or track down escaped con's over 50 miles away,calmly walk away from the garden & go about your business of taking your dog for a hike,if you try to hide you've taken away any reasonable doubt of why your in the woods,if you do run & manage to get away remember your car,if they were there in the 1st place they know who you are,have your plate #,be sensible so your lawyer has an arguement other than its my clients 1st offense.

when I go out I bring my paint ball gun and gear. gives me an excuse to look sinister in the woods and wear my camo gear if I ever do run into anyone.

I never have anything on me to do with the grow op, I usually transport everything I need to the location (nutes, soil, buckets, etc.) in the wintertime and stash em. I find it's easier to transport in the winter with a set of snowshoes and a toboggan. also you can't wear a path into the foliage with a 2ft base of snow below you and usually your winter tracks get covered next snowfall.

i like to kayak to some remote places on the river and plant small patches all over also i keep fishing gear on hand for when i have to get out and walk around.

Sounds like a good plan, Panhead. I doubt you ever got busted! Yeah, that is a lot of precautions to be going a few times a week.. It is all very good advice though indeed,, and better to be safe than sorry right. I think that if you are somewhere where it is incredibly shady, than you really shouldn't be growing there in the first place, especially if you are more inclined to have people actually walking their animals out in the middle of nowhere, Think about your surroundings, and make good decisions.

I wish i could say i never got busted, i got popped & had to do 2.5 years,it could of been much worse but i had a very good lawyer who was well versed in his trade.

That 2.5 years taught me a ton of shit,the first being that you can never be too carefull,if your caught with enough to make the headlines you'll become some politicians stepping stone to advancement.

The 2nd thing i learned was to never grow any quanity in the home you live in,its much safer to buy a few homes,then rent them out to bums,have them sign rental agreements,pay them a quick $50 so they can go smoke a crack rock,then set up shop in one of the houses.

A well placed webcam will let you know if people or cops have been sniffin around while your not there.

Nope,dont mind sharing,but only to a point.

My lifestyle put me on the radar & kept me there,i was very carefull with everything except how my lifestyle looked to others,i never figured out that i needed to be a wallflower in order to stay successfull & free at the same time.
