    Default THELOADEDDRAGON'S 2010 Outdoor

Im starting this now because of the immense amount of prep work that is going into it.

I am finally getting a permanent outdoor set up established. I have designed a greenhouse to go in this area.

First I have to take apart the raised beds that are already there and cut down this nasty oak tree.

Then take down the fence and move it farther back to the very edge of the clearing.

Then take out the huge red bud that is in the way and remove its stump.

Then I can level the area for the greenhouse which will involve painstakingly removing huge chunks of granite.

Then I can actually build the greenhouse.

Then I can tear the shit out of the local soil thats there, clean it, leech the shit out of it, and ammend the soil.

Then I can install raised beds to my specifications, including support lines.

Then I can top some nearby trees to maximize sun exposure.

Then I can finally put plants in there.

I am hoping to do a test run starting in the middle of Oct. So I need to do all this in the next month and a half.

Things will change..... I never get to go by my plan, just as close to it as possible. For some reason Im depressed......

I will take pics of the process as best as I can.

yeah I went and climbed it and then got down and stared at it. then I went and smoked.... went back and stared at it again........ I couldn't get past that first crotch, so the harness and spikes is going to be a must. There is a lot of extremely difficult cuts from bad angles.....

    Dragon-
No doubt about it, it's a tuff tree to be your first tree you climb to remove. Would have been nice to get a couple of easier ones under your belt before tackling that beast.
Between your physical ability and my knowledge of the business we should be fine. Were going to have all the right gear/ropes/saws and plenty of ground support. Just remember......take your time......safety first!

I prefer the ass-less chaps myself, but hey, to each their own.

can't fall it as it sits...... its got a full crown, and a couple widowmakers up there, and there is a house right next to it etc. If I sectioned it into two and fell it, the groundwork would take 4 or 5 times as long and be much more difficult. Gunna have to section it into 6-10 pieces, and groundwork should be a breeze....

    Honestly....

Im going to do whatever the hell Treemansbuds tells me to do, exactly as he tells me to do it. This Oak is Knarley as Fuck, there is too much damage! And he does have the expertise to get the job done RIGHT! I can climb trees all day no problem..... I can run a chainsaw all day no problem...... wouldn't mind if I started on a few of the other trees around that are easier to climb..... but its out of my control.... this beast is the first, thats what the boss said.... should be good on chain/bar oil..... went to the lumber yard about a week ago and picked up a half cord for my fam.

I did get up to the second crotch with no harness or spikes.... but I couldn't do it with a chainsaw..... and I couldn't get down until my wife brought me a rope...... now I am ready

yeah! The spot is spectacular..... way better even then the last spot of earth I carved out..... Im psyched about it!
