When does a plant stop growing taller going into flowering?

So I know an outdoor plant will start flowering outdoors around end of July to early August (N. Americas), but my question is: Once you see the plant begin to flower, when does it stop growing taller? I have heard of the 'stretch' a plant goes through before flowering, but not sure how much this is and how long it does this. Currently have some 4' Kush babies. Thanks guys!

General rule of thumb is once the plant starts to flower is will about double in height. Oustside your weather is going to affect this more than inside but but that is a good estimate......Good Luck and would love to see some pics.:joint:

Stretching occurs when the plant needs more light. Since your doing your thing outdoors you won't need to worry about that. Normally about double is the rule of thumb, like canefan said. Good luck bro!

i cant remember what strain i had but it trippled in size during flowering..however that was indoors Im not 100% sure on how tall they grow outdoors but i have had some friends who have 10 foot outdoor plants........so I'd say double to triple is about how tall it will be

Don't mean to hijack... but this is related and doesn't need a new thread...

I have a bunch of plants in the ground. I am moving in September so, I feel I will have to start getting ready to force flower.

I decided to build a light-proof tent to put over my babies to stimulate a 12 hour day...

My question is, inside my tent, will I have to throw a fan in there to keep the air a little bit fresh for them?

And If I do, do I need to go all-out for a fresh air intake?

or can I just be lazy like I want to be?

just open the tent everyonce and while and make sure its not too humid .
you can get a fan if you want
but you reallly don't need it that much.

There is Lack of Light Stretching then there is Flowering Stretch.

Of the two types of "stretch" we are talking about the flower onset stretch.

This period is from the point of flower trigger till buds start to form. This happens in two weeks, then vertical growth slows down to a stop over the next week.
