I'm currently growing outdoors, and it gets to be about 98 right now at the hottest part of the day. Later in summer it will get even hotter than this, around 120 . I use a shade cloth that blocks 50% of light, and a misting fan, which combined lowers the temperature about 10 to 15 degrees. The sun shines on them eight hours a day. I was wondering if the shade cloth will prevent my plants from getting the right amount of light that they need. Also, what signs would the plants show if they aren't getting enough light? I planted them about seven days ago, they sprouted green about 5 days ago. They are all different heights, but the tallest one is about 3 1/2 inches with 4 leaves. I have the samre question. It's real hor where I am and the plants burn in the direct sun. What's the best way to cover them? Shade cloth or white pvc sheets?

I used a shade cloth on my last grow and they turned out fine. It gets to 105°F where I'm at!

Im using it right now and its awesome i love it...I use that and a swap cooler when it gets over 100,I built a room out of it and it stays nice in the heat

i have a friend who grows in Arizona at 107+ and his plants are fine, as long as they get plenty of water they wont have any trouble with the heat, water is KEY! you have to remember that these plants originate along the equator and have been growing wild under high heat for hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of years~! I guess shade cloth wont hurt them, but it definitely wont let them grow to there full potential! full sunlight and lots of water will optimize your growth and yeild.

i use it becasue i started the end of june in pots and the heat was frying them so it helped me alot
