Default Why do deer eat it?

Hey everyone, just a quick question - I'm assuming that deer do because it wreaks - but can it happen early in a plant's life, as in a month old? The plants smell, but nothing ridiculous - I'm going to use Deer Out and probably shave some soap nonetheless, but won't be able to do it until payday. I don't want to know if "deer will eat them", no one can answer that, but was just curious in general. I'll spray Deer Out no matter what, but would like to save soap shavings until necessary if possible. Thanks all.

    Soap works!!
I use it for rabbit and deer, But becareful not to get it to close to the plant it will soak in to the soil and your plant will soak that up. YUK I also have smoked bud that tasted like IRISH SPRING..
My Reservation has no Post office. So nothing coming in and absolutely nothing going out.

If they can smell the soap they can smell the bud so your already in trouble.

Animals usually tend to eat them when they're young and tender. I had a chard plant growing and our chicken massacred it.

Thank you for the input - it's not that my plants are all that potent - but I'm not sure of the quality of a deer's nose, so who knows - I'm mad at myself now for not putting something down there immediately - will do tomorrow. Thank you everyone.
