Thank you for the input - it's not that my plants are all that potent - but I'm not sure of the quality of a deer's nose, so who knows - I'm mad at myself now for not putting something down there immediately - will do tomorrow. Thank you everyone.

well hold up man deer are eating your plants and others because the leaves create a meer invisible sap and animals smell it and love it so they munch away on your babies :[ urinate all around your plant and all over

hmm kk check this out...we, humans (most heh) are top of the food chain just do as they do and mark your territory, hell just visiting your pllants daily without pissing will deter them, skin cells flake off leaving scent. Whatever unnatural thats on the bottom of your shoes will deter them. Hunters go thru many precautions to cover up human scent, from soaps to deer piss. Essentially just save a nice piss and hit up some trees and twigs (deer love to rub their scent glands on low lyring tree twigs. also deer love forest edges. I use to hunt and can tell you everything on becomming the almighty stealth hunter as well as the most unsuccesful deer hunter. Do these things and no deer will be around ever, just make sure you re scent the area occasionally especially after it rains. GL

deer could care less about a little piss. it may deter them for a minute, but they will soon be back. it's their woods after all.

Deer can become habituated to human or man made scents. If there is not seasonal hunting pressure, then they just might eat em anyway. There are lot more afraid of an actual human, than the scents that we leave behind. I have had deer come in to investigate human hair and urine scents left in the woods.
