Just FYI (learned this recently with google earth) It looks like them spots might be deep, but honestly, they look like a stones throw from the road!
You'll get out there on foot, and realize "wow this spot is like 200 foot from the road, and open as can be"
spot #1 looks like its covered in trails, proably dirtbike/atv trails, which wont be good cause there will probably be people passing through there regularly
spot #3 looks good, but I'd probably personally move it into the thicker stuff

Exactly... and if a cop has the time/knowlege to find these spots with these small pictures then be my guest. I live in Ohio and there are 1,000s of identicle spots around here.
I was thinking spot 3 looked great also. I will be checking it and spot 5 out today i'll trash the other ones because like the guy above me said, they ARE pretty close to the street.

haha i found my place on google earth to,make sure you don't have it near paths, bike trails, woods, places where rubbish is lying around, areas where fires have been e.t.c...
Look for a place on google earth, then go there and see for yourself, make sure absoloutely nobody has been there and be aware of everything around you and ways to get out in a hurry.

Dude you live in a prarie. finding a spot shouldn't even be a question. everywhere gets some much light. Try growing in a place where all the trees are a hundred feet high and there mountains and hills everywhere. It tends to complicate thing. The only advice i can give to you is closer the better, Check the soil conditions, and check your water situation. and always make sure it's out of sight. Those are the main things. Then it's usually clearing the spot,(digging holes if planting direct in soil), and bringing in supplies.
