Who else here uses Google Earth to find their plots?

Ive used it to help. A lot of great and close spots that I never knew existed can be found.

the only thing i dont like is that ill plan out a route and not be able to see tiny little gates blocking access and end up doing more walking than i intended to do

while actually i can see the gates but i have done that before.
you just have to look really close because a gate is only like 4 inches thick but it should stick out as a different colored line SO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION LOL or youll end up walking forever like me.

lol thats true.. the land doesnt seem as vast as it is on google earth.

But its def a good tool to use. I love it

Its Useless where i am,satalite images are 3 years old

Still useful. And most likely any good spot won't have dramatically changed within 3 years.

I've found the terrain option to be really useful in mountainous areas...Makes it easier to find secret little valleys and such. Not 100% accurate but better than nothing.
